At last a real 5 star hotel..
I travel all over the world and stay in a number of hotels that call themselves '5 star'. It is rare that I find one that really lives up to that title but the Trump chain certainly seems to aim high. I had stayed in the Trump in Panama before so my expectations were pretty good (it is amazing) and I was not disappointed with the Trump Hotel & Tower in Toronto where I stayed for four nights. The rooms are immaculate. Well designed with pretty well everything you would hope for and then some. Coffee machines, rain shower, comfy beds, tasteful furnishings etc, but what makes this hotel really five star is the staff. Somehow the Trump seems to have recruited a bunch of really genuine, service orientated staff that are warm and friendly without being overly effusive, but most importantly efficient, thoughtful and organized. I had the pleasure of utilizing a number of facilities - the fitness centre (well equipped if a little small), the pool the restaurant and bar. Everything works well.
I found the arrangement of the restaurant for breakfast being on the top floor a bit unusual and because they don't have a buffet breakfast, even basics of cereal and pastries seemed to take a long time to arrive, but if you are not in a rush it’s not an issue and the restaurant staff were otherwise delightful. They coped admirably during an extended powercut at peak hour in the morning, with profuse apologies despite it not being the hotel's fault.
My company gets a corporate rate at the Trump which is pretty reasonable given the quality of this hotel, although I was warned in advance that the meals are expensive which they are. I didn't eat in the restaurant during the evening but I gather they have a new chef that is outstanding... maybe next time.

Room Tip: upper floors have great views

The Trump brand is all about personalized service, and it really makes a difference. This was our first trip to Toronto, and the smiling and solicitous Trump staff enhanced our trip and made us feel very welcome. The rooms, decor and facilities are fabulous and already well documented. But for me, the service was the differentiator. We have experienced the Trump in NYC, so we're already big fans! Wish there were more international locations (i.e., Paris)...

We have been fortunate to stay in several beautiful hotels, but The Trump in Toronto takes the prize. The lobby is beautiful and the staff very accommodating and welcoming. The concierge staff was most helpful in helping us plan days walking in the city, and arranging a car to travel to Niagara Falls. Their restaurant recommendations were also spot on. Our rooms were incredible. We were given upgrades such that my husband and I had a suite, and our sons (15, 19, and 21) were in an adjacent suite. We could not have been more thrilled. The beds were heavenly, the bathroom perfect (the steam from the shower did not escape to fog up the bathroom mirror), and the TV screen in the bathroom mirror a real plus. Having the extra 1/2 bath was another bonus. The rooms were surprisingly quiet for a city. And the chocolates made by the in-house chocolatier amazing. My mouth is watering just writing about them! We would be hard pressed to stay anywhere else in Toronto.

The Trump Toronto is a top tier hotel and soars, literally and figuratively, above the rest. From the moment we arrived to our departure, everyone of the hotel staff was on point and were super attentive. And the decor is just extraordinary... From the stunning lobby, to the sumptuous rooms - even the gym and pool are fabulous! We absolutely loved our stay and are completely addicted. Thank you!!!

We got a two room suite which was gorgeous. The hotel service was excellent. Every staff member we encountered over three days was helpful and enthusiastic. Check in was easy, room was ready, and was beautiful with great space. Bath was large and TV in mirror was very nice tech touch. Turn down service was awesome. Adrianna and Genevieve at concierge, chose great restaurants and side trips and made all arrangements quick and easy. We spent more time in our room then ever during our travels as it was that nice. Walked to most activities. Service at Stock Bar on 31st floor was bland. View was nice on outside deck but sat at the bar. Had one drink and left as the bartenders seemed uninterested in us. Overall it felt like coming home after a long day out. In room Nespresso coffee was a great touch, as was turn down service with chocolate.

Room Tip: Our room was 1211, Not much of a view, but it was a corner suite with extra windows and offset this shortfall nicely. You are in the Financial District so the building is surrounded by other towering buildings all around it . No Elevator noise. Very quiet.
