We discovered at the door that the place was closed that day. While we understand that it is probably too costly to keep it open on a week day at the beginning of the season, it would be nice if they had a web page announcing their schedule. The only option opened across the islands was a pizza parlor near centre island. I must say that it was a gorgeous day and the park was packed. Some people just don't know how to make a buck.

We went in because it was the only place nearby and we were thirsty. The food was basic restaurant food. We should have waited till we returned to downtown Toronto. The hotdogs at the corner might have been better. The service, however, was horrible. Some of our initial impressions were that some of the employees do not like their job. Maybe it was off season- not sure, since I don't visit Centre Island often- but I know good customer service and they were lacking.

This was the only place open on the day we went over to the island. Drinks were just average, a little watery. The aptz. was horrible, we did not eat it, and the server never offered to take it off or replace it. Sandwich was decent. Service was slow.

We went to the Carousel Cafe before going to the Centreville Amusement Park. We chose it because it was the closest place to eat to the amusement park. We chose to sit outside on the patio. We watched the ducks, geese and boats go by as we waited for our food and as we ate. We had a great waitress and the food was not bad either.

We stopped here for lunch around close to 2pm on a weekday. We were promptly seated, but then it took another 10 minutes until the waitress came to get our drink order. It took at least 30 mins to get our food, despite the restaurant being pretty much empty by that point. I ordered the chicken fingers and fries. The chicken was cold and the fries -- has no one heard of SALT?! They were completely tasteless. When the waitress finally did come around to ask how the food was, I told her. I honestly didn't want anything else, but she said she'd have my food remade before I could get another word in and left the table. Luckily, it 'only' took another 15 mins to get it. So the food was then hot, but still tasteless. Our waitress did discount our bill for having to send the food back, but that was about the only good thing.
