“Come Early for Lunch”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

This small restaurant fills up quickly at lunch. There is one reason, the quick service and the wonderful food. The service is warm and friendly.

Best items on the menu include: the Chicken Pot Pie and its good to order a side of their delightful fries to go with it and their burger with fries. The fries here are likely the best fries in the financial district.

“Yummy food on Bay”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

This is a lovely spot to grab a quick meal, watch the world trudge by and think about a kinder, gentler time for this stretch of Bay Street. The pressed tin ceiling, vintage newspapers on the walls and, yes, even the challenging plumbing, harken back to a simpler age.

The tiny kitchen manages to crank out a good selection of comfort food, all from local ingredients and made properly. The mac and cheese is creamy and delicious and just what you want to take the edge off the day. The caesar salad is giant leaves of romain with big slabs of bacon and croutons the size of a Fiat. Large but not stupid portion sizes make this a great idea for a light meal.

Service is professional and friendly. Only complaint is the noise level. This is not a place for an intimate night out. It's a place where you need to out-shout the table next door. Oh, and don't use the toilets. The plumbing, as mentioned, is a certain age.

“Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Hello I used to go to this place years ago when I worked in the area. Very glad to see that nothing has changed and the food is still delicious just as I remember. Very kind and informative staff. I will definitely be back.

“Great lunch spot in downtown Toronto”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Firstly, arrive early as this place fills up. Great atmosphere, funky decor, (I.e. Not glitzy like many downtown spots), simple menu with eclectic choices and reasonable prices. Wine list, too, follows the pattern: simple, nice array of choices (Ontario, BC!, foreign), reasonable prices. Three of us lunched on a nice cross section - fish tacos, beet salad, Chinese BBQ pork. Glasses of an Ontario Gamay suited nicely. Place was packed by 12:30 and noisy with exuberant conversation. See first comment.
