great seafood meal, service was good for everyone but me. My oysters took too long to be presented. the others at the table already finished the first course before I got my oysters.

Although the service was great, the food is not really that exceptional. This is just a so so restaurant.

You go to Diana for the best oysters and fresh seafood, period.!
Don't worry about the setting, the atmosphere, etc... go for the food. If you want atmosphere and a fine dining experience you have many other options in Toronto, but you won't find better seafood.

My wife and I had lunch here and were very happy with the service as well as the quality of the food. Although the lobster roll is a salad of lobster and crab and shrimp, (not necessarily for the purist) it was well stuffed and tasty. My wife had the fish and chips (haddock) and they were very good. Chips were home made steak fries and the fish was lightly battered and delicious. The clam chowder is the white version but not thick like New England, but very well done and obviously made in house. They have the best selection of raw Oysters I have seen in a long time with PEI, Washington, Maine, Massachusetts, and Ireland represented among others. Rather extensive menu and all food seems to be cooked to order and presented well. I would definitely return.

My friends and I all live downtown and made the trek to Diana's. We were not disappointed. The wine list is not impressive, but let it go. The dishes, while unsophisticated, are honest, and the seafood can't be beat. Diana's supplies to Rodney's and Oyster Boy. There are is no pretense here. You pay market value, no more.

Appetizers:
Colossal Shrimp Cocktail- 3-4 units. Fresh, plump. no complaints.
Calamari Fritti- lightly "battered" and fried. Delicious.
Grilled Octopus, sliced on the bias. So juicy and tender.
Pan Seared Day Scallops: I had this as an entree after tasting the above appies. This was enough! Decadent but spare enough to satisfy.

Broiled Black Cod. A generous portion. Go straight to this after maybe one appetizer.
Fresh, sweet filet, pan seared to perfection.

Bouillabaisse. Nice and light, with a generous fish medley. Tomato base.

If you need a seafood fix, maybe venture out to Scarborough for a casual, but honest meal.

Thank you, Diana's!
