I have lived in Toronto most of my life but it was quite a treat to experience this great city like a tourist.

I did the "Oh Canada!" sweets tour in the Distillery District as part of a bachelorette weekend and had an incredible time. The theme of the tour was Canadian desserts and I am still thinking about those butter tarts and ice-wine macaroons! Audrey was our tour guide and was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable in describing the history of the distillery district in addition to the Canadian origins of all the desserts. She is a wonderful conversationalist.

I appreciated the variety of desserts that our group was offered (fresh local fruit, honey, chocolates, cakes, pastries, etc). One of the highlights was tasting goat-cheese chocolates...go figure!

I especially loved that Audrey thought to balance an entire morning of sweets with savory samples of poutine at the Mill Street Brewery along with beer and root beer to wash it down.

This is a "must-do" day activity for anyone with a sweet tooth and for those that value local food production.

I appreciated the variety of the tour!! We ate sweets from the cultures best represented in Kensington market. It was a tasty tour sprinkled with rich history. Alex (our guide) gave us a brief history lesson, which although i'm from Toronto didn't realize how delicate the balance is in Kensington market, and my teenage kids found quite interesting. This tour definitely sets the bar high.

The Distillery is a perfect setting for a tasting tour, and Tasty Tours does it right. This historic revitalized site is full of trendy galleries, interesting shops, a variety of eateries, and even a Sunday farmers market. It was a lovely sunny morning when we met Audrey, our friendly knowledgeable guide. Over the next 2+ hours, we went to several food vendors and establishments, trying a variety of foods, ranging from goat's milk chocolates (incredibly rich and yummy) to poutine, a distinctly Canadian dish which blends french fries, cheese and gravy into a sublimely decadent indulgence. It was fun meeting the vendors, who described their efforts in creating the foods they offered. We hopped from one location to the next, comparing our impressions with the others on the tour. This was the second tour we've taken with Tasty Tours, Our first tour of the Kensington Market area was highly enjoyable, and we found that the tasting tour of The Distillery was every bit as enjoyable. We recommend it heartily.

This is the second sweets tour I have done with Tasty Tours (the first was the Kensington Market tour). My expectations were high based on my first experience, and Audrey definitely delivered! The tour itself was highly interesting and informative, and of course....delicious! It was nice to learn about Canadian treats in particular! Audrey is very friendly, engaging and knowledgeable of the history, able to answer any questions that come her way. There was a secret surprise treat at the end which made the tour even better! The Distillery is a beautiful area worth visiting, especially with Tasty Tours. I hope to go on any other future Tasty Tours!

Audrey did a spectacular job incorporating sweet & savoury tastings together with history bits at this Distillery District food tour. The farmer's market is a new initiative at the Distillery, taking place every Sunday during summer months. We had a chance to try delicious locally produced treats and have a chat with the sellers at each stand. The tour was well organized and truly a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon at one of Toronto's best neighbourhoods!
