I had the pleasure of staying 2 nights with Hotel Le Germain and it was most pleasant. Check in was smooth and quick, room was well appointed with all the amenities however the only challenge was with the remote to the Bose clock that would enable me to set the alarm as it didn't work - please check your batteries and change them. Breakfast was splendid and service friendly and efficient. There are 2 properties in the city so be sure that you have been booked into the right one or you will find out the hard way as I did....all in all it was comfortable, well-appointed and a nice choice for an upgraded experience in the city.

Room Tip: The Mercer Street location is in the entertainment district and there are roof top patios operating...

Hotel Le Germain was amazing! Our room was ready upon check in and they were most accommodating with our request of 'quiet" side of hotel due to reviews we had read about construction and night clubs on Mercer. Our entire stay was quiet and peaceful on the tenth floor. The room was spacious and the bed Devine!! We requested the shower no tub which had rain shower head...all products delightful as well. What made our stay here in Toronto and quests at the Hotel Le Germain the best experience ever was Nancy the Concierge!
Nancy was helpful, delightful and most professional with her communications before our arrival and during our stay. Unfortunate for us our last two days Nancy had well deserved time off.
Nancy was always very attentive to our needs and would help us plan our days with excellent suggestions and recommendations. Everything worked out perfectly...our first experience in Toronto was amazing!!
We have always gone to the Montreal Jazz festival and this year we tried Toronto's Beach Jazz Festival. Although both very different we enjoyed the casualness of Toronto's.
We did daily passes for the street cars which was great for getting around to different neighborhoods. We love the diversity of Toronto and exploration of the different neighborhoods and cultural experiences. Nancy was ten times better than the Fodor's travel book I bought!
The location of the Hotel in the entertainment district was perfect!
If you are into sporting events the location was perfect as well.
Day one started with a walk down to the Harbor and then with a very good dinner around the corner...Luma...a bit pricey but very good. We then went to Second City for a very funny comedy show! They offered a discount for Hotel quests(literally across the street)
Day Two we went to the Distillery...a must! Dinner at Chiada...excellent fish!
Day Three we did Yorkville and Festival at night.
Day Four we did Kensington Market which was very cultural and cool experience.
Dinner at Buca which was very good...unfortunately for us it rained and our evening was cut short with a cab ride to the Hotel.
Relaxation in our wonderful room is not a bad way to wrap up our amazing stay at Hotel Le Germain! Thank you Nancy!!
We hope to be back soon!
Merci!

Room Tip: Request back side of hotel(King Street side) and higher floor.

We have stayed in both this hotel and the Maple Leaf Square hotel, and I would highly recommend either. The staff is attentive and welcoming. The rooms are well designed and extremely comfortable. Everything from the bedding to the bath products is high quality. I can never sleep when I am in a hotel... unless it is a Germain hotel!

This is a very well kept, contemporary property. Our first impression was excellent due to the excellent service from the valet, reception and concierge. The rooms are very stylishly decorated with noticeable attention to detail. The continental breakfast was excellent quality with many delicious and nutritious options. I highly recommend this property compared to others in this price range and area.

I can give the Hotel Germain in Toronto high marks for its location and amenities. Located in the Harborfront area, the CN Tower is a short walk. Union station with access to trains and subway is across the street. All the main sports and entertainment venues are within a small walkable radius and the hotel itself is a gem. The ferry to Centre Island is a 15 minute walk.

Our room was modern and comfortable with a view of the CN Tower (and also a lot of construction - more info later). The shower is positioned in the middle of the room and is glass on two sides so that you can see into the bedroom and through the windows to the Toronto skyline. Might be a little disconcerting for some folks, but there are blinds on the shower glass that you can close if you want privacy for modesty's sake. But I recommend taking in the view while you take your shower. Most surprising? Our room number etched on the glasses.

Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful when assistance was needed. All the amenities were provided, including ear plugs for those who might want to keep sleeping after the morning construction and traffic begins. We were on the 5th floor and the construction/traffic noise was not a disturbance for us. From a security standpoint, guests can only access the floor of their room, the 2nd floor where breakfast is served, and the lobby. This was not a problem for us. In fact, I liked that our floor was secure only to guests with rooms on the floor and hotel staff.

The only slight "negative" I have about the hotel is the breakfast. First, it is a wonderful continental-serve-yourself breakfast served until late morning. The options include a wide variety of breads and pastries, oatmeal, cheeses, boiled eggs, and an assortment of high quality cold cuts (ham, chicken, beef, etc). The first two days choosing and partaking of the selections were great, but the selections did not vary and by the 4th-5th day of our 7 day stay, I was hoping for more variety.

Breakfast aside, I highly recommend the hotel and would definitely stay there again.

I have stayed here several times on business. Excellent Wifi. The continental breakfast included is more than muffins and fruit. Hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, etc available. Great bar off the lobby and central to many attractions in Toronto. The rooms are fantastic with every amenity well thought out and appointed.

Great room but what made the stay absolutely awesome was the staff. I mentioned we were staying for my daughter's 10th birthday treat and after returning to our room from a concert we found birthday cake, fruit cookies and walnuts. My kids were overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of the managers. They are already talking about our next trip! Thanks again!
