Without question Pantages Hotel is my hotel of choice in the city. Great staff, great rooms and great location. Being one street back of Yonge st allows you too find everything you need in the city without going too far. The martini bar below is great for decompressing and the famous diner for breakfast and a late night snack is in the building. Home away from home. Love the rooms which have all been refurbished. Staff are awesome.

This hotel is conveniently located, but the rooms are dirty and really worn. If you want a room that is clean and new, this isn't the place for you. I highly recommend the Soho Metropolitan Hotel instead.

Booked this hotel through Hotwire for 2 nights. The location is great being one block away from Young St and around the corner from the Eaton Center/Subway station. The hotel seems to be an older hotel that had a good make over or it was a former apartment building turned into a hotel. When I arrived Check in went very smooth and I was given a 20$ voucher for the bar which I did use with no issues.

The room it self was very large and rather clean. There were a couple small dust balls behind the desk but nothing to go crazy over. I didn't like having to pay for WiFi in this day and age.. IMO it should be free however there is a StarBuck's nearby.

It's a 4star hotel but perhaps a lower end 4star.

That being said I would stay again

Found this place on hotwire. It was listed as a 4 star which was a bit generous. The location is very good, the staff are very friendly but the hotel itself needs a refresh. Limited in terms of menu and room service options. There are better options for the price. Grand Hotel is much nicer but perhaps slightly less desitable location.

Stayed here for a weekend. Steps from yonge-dundas square, the eaton centre n many restaurants.

Great hotel with basic breakfast incl. But if u feel for something a little more, Fran's is just around the corner and has great breakfast options (diner style).

Stayed on the 17th floor. Room had a full kitchen and was ok, but I would suggest staying in a suite if you have the choice...stayed in one about a year ago n personally thought it was much nicer.

Night time bar was chill before heading out. They had a pianist which gave it a nice chill vibe.

If you have a car I suggest parking at the hotel. Safer. If you choose to park at green p, park on the first level as there are no cameras on the lower levels.

Check out the spa if you have a chance. Had a massage n facial...also used the sauna, steam room n hot tub....extremely relaxing n a great spa experience!

Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is well located, but unfortunately, that's about it. My room was awfully hot (temperature read at 32,2 degres celsius when I got in), floor was dirty with dust balls in corners and under the bed, there was dust on glasses, wine bottles, desk, etc. Extra $ charge to have wifi in room (who still charges extra - and a high amount - for internet in hotels in 2013?). bottom of furnitures and cabinets are damaged and chipped. Generally speaking, the furnitures looks a bit 1990's. You can tell by looking at the scratches that it once was mahogany and someone had the (odd?) idea to paint it dark brown in recent years. The furniture was too big for the room, it took most of the space although it wasn't necessary (big fat deep cabinet made for a deep, old TV yet a flat LCD in it - hotel could have remove this cabinet all together and hang the TV on the wall to clear the room a bit). The screens in the elevators weren't working as well. If you are looking for a great location, then this is it. If you are looking for a great hotel, I'm unsure. The place would benefit enormously from more maintenance...

Stayed for 6 nights from September 18 to 24.

First, as many reviewers have written, the location is exceptional, being steps from the Eatons Centre. There are abundant shopping and dining options within easy walking distance and even more distant city attractions are accessible by taxi. Some have noted the hotel's proximity to the hospital although simple remedies will mitigate most of the nuisance factor (see below).

Second, we stayed at a Boutique Suite (unit 1514) and the accomodations were clean and spacious. Word of advice: just like any hotel, bar items are expensive and you can request they be removed beforehand to free up space in the average size refrigerator. There is some noise, both internal (mostly people traffic near the elevators) and external (the neighbouring hospital), which should be considered when booking a good room. Units at the ends of the hallway and facing away from the hospital are highly recommended.

Finally, the hotel has decent but limited amenities, including a convenience store and bar with some food items (mostly snacks). There is also an on-site spa called Shizen which we visited but did not use. The valet parking is pricey ($ 35 per day) although there are discount packages which include the parking. O

Overall, we were satisfied with the Pantages Hotel and would recommend it to others.
