“Best hot chocolate”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

Had the dark chocolate with milk and it was the best hot chocolate that I've had so far. It's a must try.

“Divine chocolate”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014

I am a chocolate aficionado.
I recently had chocolates from a number of NYC chocolate shops and I can honestly say that Soma was superior. So far, I have only had 3 of the dozen pieces that I bought and they have been wonderful. I look forward to each one.
We also enjoyed gelato while we were there and it was very good.
In addition I got a small bag of hazelnut kiss cookies and they are also wonderful.
I only wish I had purchased more.

“If you like chocolate this is a must!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

The store is now in the Brewery District and if you are visiting there it is a must see. As soon as you enter the store you are surrounded in the delightful aroma of chocolate. There are a wide assortment of chocolate bars, chocolate coated nuts, caramels, light chocolate, dark chocolate, chocolate bars with fruit - the list goes on. There is a small counter in the store that serves a selection of chocolate drinks and ice cream. If you like chocolate, make sure you visit this store. If you are a lover of chocolate and visiting Toronto, then this is a place that is a must visit. The prices are a bit steep (think $8.00 + for a chocolate bar) but the price is worth it. Try the chocolate-covered almonds - rolled in chocolate that is deep and rich - heavenly. These are chocolates to be savored, not just eaten. The staff is friendly and will gladly chat about their products if they are not too busy.

“Chocolate & ice cream good, hot chocolate beverage disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

On a recent visit along with friends, I shared an ice cream (one scoop dark chocolate sorbet, one scoop dark chocolate gelato). Both were very good. My friends didn't have any ice cream but went for the hot chocolate - one with milk one with just water. They complained that it was too dilute - not enough chocolate. I thought I would try, and splurged $4.50 on a hot chocolate - no milk. It was definitely lacking in chocolate taste. There just was not enough chocolate in the beverage. Conclusion: the ice cream and chocolate is good, but skip the hot chocolate beverage!

Love to go Soma's to buy gift boxes of assorted chocolates. We make it part of every shopping outing at The Distillery.
