Like its simple name, Kitchen is the most unpretentious place in the City to enjoy a great dining experience. If you care about quality of the food and the way it is prepared and served, this small and reasonably priced culinary gem on Avenue Road North, four blocks south of Highway 401, will meet every possible expectation. Expertly prepared and served, everything on the menu is a winner. We've had rack of lamb, grilled veal chop, striploin steak, hamburger, Provimi calf's liver and onions, chicken, and market fresh fish, as well as pasta, generously accompanied by fantastic home or sweet potato fries and fresh vegetables. Start with the wild mushroom soup or a goat cheese or Caesar salad, but save some room for home made carrot cake, banana loaf or one of the fabulous chocolate desserts. You will not be disappointed. MAKE reservations, and say hello to the smiling, self satisfied couple in the corner. That will be my wife and me, back again because we love it.

This excellent small restaurant- has comfortable seating for maybe two dozen people. It is quiet and elegant and sits almost unnoticed just a few minutes south of Highway 401 on Avenue Road.
We have driven from Bay and Bloor ( heart of downtown Toronto- only a 15-20 minute drive) three times in the past month and it is well worth the drive.
The food is outstanding. We have had veal chops, steaks, burgers, Tilapia, and liver with
frites, sweet potatoes, cooked vegetables, Caesar salad and also Rice pudding( with Raisins) home made Carrot Cake( made at home by the chef's mother-phenomenal !) inexpensive wine
by the glass-served with skill by Francesco and exquisitely prepared by master chef-Jeff Baker.
I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. For the money, it is the best food in the city.
The New Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto should be so lucky as to have food and service like
the Kitchen Bistro. When the old Four Seasons housed "The Studio Café", it was deservedly busy. The Kitchen Bistro is a worthy competitor and I hope it sticks around and prospers.

We had an excellent meal in this small, quiet restaurant. The food was very fresh and the service was perfect. We will definitely be returning. The grilled trout was perfectly cooked, the mushroom soup outstanding and the salad was crisp and chilled.

We were at Kitchen with another couple who had been there many times. They had raved about the food and we were not disappointed.
Everything we ordered was delicious, but my fave was the wild mushroom soup. The service was friendly and the owner/chef came out of the kitchen and spoke to us...that was a nice touch.
The only suggestion I have, is that they serve another variety of bread.
