“Elegant, modern and well located on the cusp of St. Lawrence Market and Downtown”
Reviewed 13 August 2009

Just a few metres off of Yonge Street on quiet Colbourne Street, the Cosmo is easy accessible by TTC and within walking distance from major attractions like the St. Lawrence Market and the Flatiron Building. My room was elegant, modern and well-planned out, with larger floor the ceiling windows, a balcony providing views of Toronto's skyscrapers, Lake Ontario and the St Lawrence Market area and a full kitchen. It was the perfect romantic setting for the birthday celebration I planned for my partner - and all the better, because it wound up a horribly rainy day and we stayed in for most of the night. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in ... and it was hard getting up to get fresh breads and cheeses for breakfast the next morning at the St Lawrence Market. Highly recommended if you're in need of a little R & R. The only downside, in my opinion, would be the new room service menus implemented in April 09; we had the old ones in our room and when ordering, were told about the new, and upon review they didn't offer as many tasty options. The bar at the base, however, was elegant and hyper-designed, with red hues and a wonderful instalation about the bar. Would stay again.

A simply elegant place from which my son and I could sally forth to visit the fine museums and other sites -- a healthy walk or a speedy subway ride away -- and return to for quiet and peaceful comfort, this hotel worked well. Especially fun was our 16th floor walk-out balcony with a view of the CN Tower in one direction and the full moon in the other, although the view a couple of stories farther up would be even more scenic. The staff were very pleasant and accomodating. The workout room is small, but worked well for me, being open 24/7. I only wish that I had scheduled some time for a foot massage in the spa -- definitely next time!

We arrived without high expectations after log trip around Canada. Wanted to treat ourselves nicely so booked a suit. The level of comfort was high and the service was great. The spa didnt really impress - too expensive and relatively small centre, but it wasnt our intention to go there anyway. The hotel has a character, and the staff was extremely helpful - recommnedations for a night out, eating, drinking, travell tips etc. Next time we travell as a couple, we certianly come back to this place.

The guest services staff was great and they were very helpful. The incense at night was also a nice touch, however, the rest was not impressive. First off, they should not advertise that they have a refrigerator because it is really the stocked mini bar. Also, when we pulled our sheets back the fitted sheet had a large yellow stain, the pillow cases were stained, and the shower floor was dirty (which ended up being stains from not being properly maintained). We called down to have someone clean the shower and change the sheets. When he changed the sheet I noticed that the mattress pad was stained with similar stains from the sheets which grossed me out. He was just going to leave that as it was and place a new sheet on the bed. It was so disgusting that I asked for that to be changed as well. From then on (we were there 3+ nights) there were stains on the sheets and/or pillow cases every time our sheets were changed, which I DO NOT expect from a 4 star. Oh and there was construction right next to and across the street from the hotel (the other side of the street was dug up) with quite a few tractors, etc stationed there that made for an eye sore and difficulty accessing the hotel. Also don't be fooled by the "every room has a balcony" because all we had was a sliding door that opened up to a space that you couldn't even go out and stand on if you wanted to.

My daughter and I stayed at the Cosmo July 13 - 18. We couldn't have asked for a better hotel. EXCELLENT and FABULOUS front desk staff! They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. Great suggestions and they treated us like family. Their attention to detail helped make our stay memorable. Spotless rooms, great maid/maintenance staff. Execellent security - need your room key to get on elevator. Wonderful SPA! GREAT location - walking distance to fantastic restaurants and steps away from the subway. Will definitely go back when we visit Toronto again. THANK YOU COSMOPOLITAN for a unforgettable stay and a comfortable place to rest our heads!

The bedroom was so small there was no room for suitcase or even a chair to sit (except at the desk situated directly under the television. The only place to sit was on the bed! The room was also quite dark as well as the lobby and breakfast room. The desk and breakfast staff were not exceptionally friendly. One can do much better in Toronto.

Great room and amenities. Excellent staff and great location....Parking was a bit pricy but this is usually the price you have to pay in downtown. I truly recommend it!
