Owner description: The Princess of Wales Theatre is a 2000-seat playhouse built by the father and son producing team of David and Ed Mirvish, just a block away from their historic Royal Alexandra Theatre. The Princess of Wales is the first privately owned and financed theatre built in Canada since 1907 - and the first anywhere in North America in over 30 years. Construction began on August 6, 1991, and the building opened to the public with the musical Miss Saigon on May 26, 1993.The theatre was built with maximum flexibility in mind. Its stage is one of the widest and deepest in North America - large enough to accommodate the most spectacular theatrical productions - and its technical facilities are state-of-the-art.

Managed to get rush tickets, first row in orchestra for only $29.You need to go in person and line up at the times indicated. You can look up the times on line, either noon or 3 pm. A MUST SEE!

We recently saw war horse at the Princess of Wales theater, They had a promotion on if you bought one ticket you get the other for 1/2 off, but since we were 3 people we could not get that offer, I felt they should have accomodated three people with some discount?

The play was very good, sometimes it was a bit difficult to understand what the actors were saying, it may have been the heavy accent or that we were in the balcony?

The woman usher in the dress circle section was very abrupt and rude snapping at people?

The theater is nice and clean and comfortable.

Thank Karen C
