Owner description: The Princess of Wales Theatre is a 2000-seat playhouse built by the father and son producing team of David and Ed Mirvish, just a block away from their historic Royal Alexandra Theatre. The Princess of Wales is the first privately owned and financed theatre built in Canada since 1907 - and the first anywhere in North America in over 30 years. Construction began on August 6, 1991, and the building opened to the public with the musical Miss Saigon on May 26, 1993.The theatre was built with maximum flexibility in mind. Its stage is one of the widest and deepest in North America - large enough to accommodate the most spectacular theatrical productions - and its technical facilities are state-of-the-art.

The show was amazing. The voices of all performers were perfect for their roles. The scenery and staging was inspired.

“Les Mis at the Princess of Wales”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 December 2013

The Princess of Wales theatre is an excellent theatre to see a big production like Les Mis. The staff are very helpful and cheerful and make the occasion a memorable one. Sidebar: Les Mis is out of this world, inspiring, sensational and the actors/singers are amazing.

“Clean, well kept and easy access”

Walked here from Toronto Hilton. Got right in, no wait. Seats very comfortable and spacious. If you are planning to eat before the show, ensure you book a reservation well in advance. We tried within 24 hrs prior with no luck..

“Nice theatre...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2013

The theatre has a nice atmosphere and pretty good site lines, but I think that The Rose Theatre in Brampton has a better feel to it. I appreciate that the Princes of Wales Theatre can hold more people than The Rose Theatre Brampton, but some performances are better suited to smaller venues.

“Great Theatre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 December 2013

Liked the Theatre as there is lots of leg room. What I don't like is seats should have individual arm rests. The season subscriber beside me is large and takes the whole arm rest.
