Jeff & I stayed @ Margo & Ziggy's B&B the week of the 15th for two nights. We stayed this time in the Willow suite, it's sooo tastefully done, comfortable, & is extremely clean!!! We have come to fall in love with the city along with the people of Toronto!!! Looking forward to staying again, looks like in about two years, wish it could be sooner, but it's a comfort, knowing that we will have our home away from home when we visit Toronto!!! Again Margo thank you for being such wonderful hosts, & opening your home to us!! Nancy

B&Bs in Toronto can be unpredictable but this place was a real find. I wanted to stay in the city with my young daughter and sister and did a lot of research before finding By The Park. Rather than one place, it's a collection of homes that have been beautifully maintained and/or restored in a graceful older neighborhood near High Park. Although one of their larger homes is a B&B, our rental in in a three story brick home across the street was a self-catering (no meals provided) apartment with a nice size bedroom (great bed) living room/kitchen and bathroom. All immaculate, new fixtures, and nicely furnished. We loved the location, right by the Keele subway 1/2 block south of Bloor Street, and a block from High Park. Parking for our car was provided as well. I met the owners, a couple who are working very hard to provide beautiful accommodations, and found the whole experience really great. I've already recommended By The Park to friends. My only comment for improvement was the summer nights can be very warm, and the room air conditioner worked well in the living room, less so in the bedroom. There is a ceiling fan in the bedroom. This wouldn't be an issue most times of the year. Overall a really wonderful place and we'll be back!!

What a treat to stay in the "High Park" accommodations of "By the Park." Margo and Ziggy have done a wonderful job of renovating this lovely 100 year old home. They are welcoming and full of information. The finishes are so luxurious and they have thought of everything to make their guests comfortable. We stayed in the Walnut and Willow Suites on the 3rd floor. Both rooms were spacious and beautiful and quiet. Not to mention very clean! We were very comfortable with the ceiling fan and quiet window A/C. The decor was fabulous, from the beautiful dark wood floors to the white wood trim, and beautiful bathroom tile, we felt as if we were in a 5 star hotel only it was much more private and quiet!
We used the kitchen to make breakfast and carried it outdoors to eat at the table in the garden. The proximity to High Park made morning jogging a pleasure and evening walks fun.
A mere short 2 block walk away was the fast subway service to downtown. A grocery store Loblaws is in easy walking distance as well, also many nice small restaurants.
For those who don't want to make their own coffee, there is a Tim Hortons a half a block away and a Starbucks about 4 blocks away.
You just can not beat the value and comfort of this lovely accommodation. An added bonus was the free parking and internet access. I also appreciated the environmentally friendly practices that Margo and Ziggy have.
I am hopeful we can make a return trip someday!

This was a return visit to By the Park for J. and I and we remain enchanted. The rooms are so pleasant that I was excited to return to them after exploring the city. There are gorgeous gardens around the house which makes the window-views extra nice (and last year we spent some time sitting among the flowers). The en-suite bathroom in the room we stayed in was well-appointed and very clean. We both slept incredibly well on both visits despite a tendency for one of us (ahem) to occasionally spend a restless night. It was just so comfortable. We chose to stay in High Park, the house without breakfast (we have an addiction to the nearby Starving Artist waffle cafe) but there are kitchen areas for those so inclined. The hosts are lovely, it's close to a giant park and also public trans . . . I miss By the Park and Toronto very much and will definitely be back.

We travelled to Toronto for a friend's wedding. Since we needed to save money, we looked for the most inexpensive place near the Old Mill. A friend recommended "By the Park B&B". We looked at the website and chose one of the rooms with the lowest price - the Daisy Room. Check-in was quick and simple, the owner was very friendly and organized, the room was clean and everything was in good shape. We stayed for two nights and had a good time. Check-out was quick and simple as well. Definitely a good recommendation for anyone looking for a decent, no-frills, quality place for a really good price.

Room Tip: Daisy Room is in the basement, but that isn't really a problem. Only downside is the relatively...

Thank you so much for the great review. Hope you will stay with us again.
Re. AC unit- this is the first year we put the window air conditioner at Daisy and Iris Bedrooms. It really was not needed since both bedrooms are located at basement level and with thick stone walls that level never gets hot in the summer. We put them because of so many people were inquiring and worrying that may be to hot when temperature is at 25+degrees Celsius. In the summer months basement level bedrooms are the only one that come with the duvet and belive me, most of our guests use them. AC units are brand new, just purchased and as quiet as the window units come this days. We also provide large fans in each bedroom for our guest's comfort.

Margo and Ziggy were fantastic hosts, professional in their service delivery yet friendly and easygoing at the same time. They made us feel relaxed and at home. The food was healthy and tasty - no one went away hungry! The room was fantastic. We shared a bathroom with other family members- modern and very clean bathroom! The b &b is close to the subway which was handy for us. It is also next to High Park which is a lovely place for a famiky get together. As well, we met some interesting other guests at breakfast. I highly recommend this place to anyone. We will be back!

I booked this B&B for my family from Japan.
They seemed had a great time there. The room was very clean, the location is great - right in front of the station and right next to the park as you know from the name of the B&B.
The owner is very nice ,friendly and proffecional. She answeres questions right away and replies to our requests very quickly.
Not only that, they were very happy that the price was really reasonable.
When I was researching B&Bs in Toronto, this place had the best price.
I would like to reccommend this B&B for everyone who are visiting Toronto, or someone who has to stay away from their home due to renovation or whatever reasons.
