“Great Stay!”
Reviewed 27 May 2012

Late Review
Friendly reception and great size room, had the king size bed with kitchen. Bed was comfortable and room was very clean. Was able to bring the free breakfast up to our room which I LOVED!! Waitstaff during breakfast were very helpful aswell! Close to everything.

Perfect location smack dab in the dead center of downtown - all the attractions, restaurants, bars, and the lakefront are all 2-5 min away. Hotel has free "light" dinner aka heavy appetizers and free breakfast. Rooms are suites with kitchens - very big, new, and clean. Very polite staff. Reasonable prices too. All around perfect for business or leasure. Fine if you have kids.

The location is great, it's very close to the CN Tower and directly in the Entertainment District with lots of dining options. The breakfast bar was very nice with healthy options such as fresh fruit and multi-grain toast. It's a very busy hotel, so go to breakfast early. Every evening, the hotel is hosting a "happy hour" with different foods. The room was very nice, good size, clean, very comfortable bed. Everyone working there was very attentive. There is a small business center with two computers, free of charge. They also have an indoor pool and gym. The room has a kitchenette which is great if you are there for a longer period of time. Everything looked new. I highly recommend it and would stay there again. The only draw-back is the parking - it's very expensive at $35 a night. If I was there on vacation, I would look for a cheaper option. There is lot down the street that charges $10.00. I don't think off-street parking is an option.

A very good hotel in a great location and at a reasonable price. We travelled there with kids aged between 8-15 and the hotel was perfect. Large rooms with full kitchennettes, nice breakfast, good service. We'll go there again next time we go to Toronto.

This is a top notch hotel! The common areas are very well maintained and the rooms impeccably clean. My husband and I and 2 young girls were in a Studio Suite for 4 nights. While we might've preferred a one bedroom suite, the studio still had ample space even with the pull out couch open and we were not tripping over each other (it would just have been nicer to have a separate room). The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need from pots to cutlery to detergent. There is a full sized fridge and a small dining area. The bathroom is huge and the bed is standard Marriott comfiness! The location cannot be beat - right in the midst of the entertainment and fashion district and our room had a perfect view of the CN Tower. Room was also very quite despite being right by the elevator, and on the 2 weekend nights we were there, there were obviously multiple drunken bridal parties at the hotel - a testament to good guest room placement by the staff.

The staff is courteous and attentive. At breakfast, Manager Kamika always stopped to chat with us and play with our girls, and did the same for most tables in her dining room, no matter how busy service got. Valets were always prompt and helpful. Front desk service was quick, efficient and friendly.

Only one slightly negative note - the dining hall is tiny for a hotel this size, so breakfast can get VERY crowded! If you have flexibility, you may want to go at a time when business folks are not trying to get fed and out the door. The hot breakfast selection is just so so... typically eggs, a potato dish (the potato latkes are fabulous, anything else was usually cooked to an inch of its life!), and a meat dish. On weekdays, the waffle maker is out. There's also oatmeal, a selection of muffins and breads, along with as least 4 types of fruit and yogurts. There are 4 types of juices, milk (regular, low fat & soy + choc sauce to make choc milk - a must for my girls :)). And a coffee/tea bar with various flavor syrups. In all, there is a good selection of items... just don't plan on a full hot breakfast daily as those selections are limited.

We did not use the gym or pool which looked pretty small. Wifi is free throughout the hotel. The prices are pretty steep anywhere downtown and frankly if I'm paying these prices, this is the level of service and property I'd want to stay at.

I traveled to TO for a race and birthday party as a solo traveler May 12/13. There isn't one negative thing to say. Room was great with full kitchen, breakfast buffet fantastic, free internet and business centre, and marvelous staff. I regret not getting her name but the female staff working at the evening on the 12th and morning on the 13th was probably one of the most helpful front desk staff I have ever encountered in my travels.
Great place to stay!

We stayed here for three nights over the past weekend and once again we were thoroughly impressed with this hotel. Firstly the check in staff are brilliant - especially the lady that must do the late afternoon/ evening shifts. Like last time, she took the time to welcome us to the hotel even calling a local Chinese restaurant for us to see if they would do deliver.

The rooms are very large and actually have a sofa in them so that you don't have to sit on the bed. The only issue with the room (well the one we were in) was that the smoke detector was right above the bed. That meant that the little flashing green light was highly annoying when you were trying to fall asleep.

This time around we also used their laundry facilities. The machines were clean and all in good condition.

Again, the breakfast is fantastic and saves you a lot of time and money.

We will be back Residence Inn!
