Steins is one of my regular haunts after a day (and occasionally morning) of studying at UofT.
It isn't dining of Michelin star quality, but offers a variety of decent pub food at a reasonable price.
I'm particularly fond of wings and stop in once a week to enjoy a pound of them with a pint of their house-brew, Einsteins.
Service is always OK, with table service available even when it's busy.
It is often quiet during the day, tables dotted with groups of friends or the odd student studying with a beer. It can be quite busy at night, even during the week, with the public (particularly students) being attracted by competitive drink offers.
A particular favourite of mine is the three-pint pitcher of Eisteins available at all times.
To summarise, Einsteins is a good bar to visit when looking for reasonably priced food and drink of decent quality. I can't see it winning any prizes, but the service, atmosphere and value for money is such that I will continue to frequent it as long as I'm in Toronto.
