“No morals, terrible customer service and average food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2014

Visited here with a reservation for 10 with work colleagues. This is a convenient location for us so we are reasonably frequent visitors.

We arrived on time for the reservation to find out our table had been given to someone else which was met with the following excuses:

- You were late (not true and quickly dropped)
- The other customers said they were us (but they refused to do anything about it ie. kick them off the table)

The manager was completely incompetent in performing his role and sorting out the situation, seemingly blaming anything he could rather than dealing with the situation.

We were not offered anything as compensation until really pushing hard, at which point we had been arguing with the manager for 20 minutes and left to find somewhere else with better service standards.

The food is average/poor at Hoops.

I will not be going back, the only reason I have given it 2* not 1* are the usually friendly waitresses and half decent beer.

“Great sports bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 February 2014

Been there many times - loads of TV's to watch whatever game you wish - plenty of beer on draft and the food is reasonable priced and reasonably good -- will continue to go there when in the area for a decent sports bar-- really good in the summer as they have doors/windows that open up to Yonge Street

“Worst place in downtown! Don't go”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 January 2014 via mobile

Very disorganized. Waitresses are rude. Came in after work once with few friends to catch up, but the music was so loud! It was a Sunday and there were not many people. When we asked the waitresses to lower the volume, she replied carelessly "the owner likes it that way, I can't". So we had to yell to each other and still weren't able to hear each other. Food is greasy. Cheap tasting beer. Place is messy. Lots of drunk people in and outside the bar. Don't go!

“A sports bar worth the wait”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 January 2014

We came here 1.5 hours before a hockey game. The 20 minute wait was worth it. Although the multiple TVs were mainly on only a few stations, we were more interested in eating. The burger selection was modest, but we each had a different one and both were excellent. The french fries were very good. What made the visit extra special was the attentive service, which was hard to imagine given how busy it was. Kudos !

“Stumpled Upon This Place ....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2014

we noticed this on our way back to our hotel and poked our head in around 4ish to inquire if they felt it would be busy that evening for the hockey game. we were told its hit and miss. they did have drink specials - $16 pitchers of beer!
we came back about 15 minutes before Leafs/Rangers game and while NFL Play Offs were still on ... there were tables and we could see both games on the large screens. some of the tables have personal TV's, but some didn't work or the reception was not the best.
Server was helpful in explaining a couple of menu items and even made sure that we were satisfied with her suggestion on the wings (a garlic with honey) that were sticky but tasty! The Pizza was also good.
Prices were good ... small place but a good sports bar.
