“Bloor West's Finest Nachos”
Reviewed 6 April 2011

3 words - PULLED PORK NACHOS!

Decent beer selection and good food with reasonable prices, it's a decent little pub at the intersection of Bloor + Jane... and if you're a nachos fan, I highly recommend the pulled pork nachos, traditional nachos with a good bitta BBQ flavour... get the "el loco" size and it's good for sharing.

“One female waitress is rude, miserable...”
Reviewed 9 August 2010

One female waitress is rude, miserable and not very accommodating. You know, the type that rolls her eyes when you ask for a fresh slice of lime for your gin and tonic to replace the one that was cut from road kill. The crowd is young and rowdy. The food is not vegetarian friendly. The place looks grimy. Patio is small and crowded.

“The Perfect Neighbourhood Hangout”
Reviewed 22 May 2010

"Hangout" is probably not the best phrase for Bryden's. The food is actually very good, much better than your everyday "pub" fare: everything here is made from scratch, right from the truly handcut, superb fries to the famous warm bread pudding. But what I mean is that this is the kind of place where the servers all recognize you, spot you coming and have your drinks on the way by the time you are seated. Now that's a neighbourly welcome indeed. And as in a true British "nabe", everyone is made to feel welcome and comfie here, from families with young children to singles unwinding after work at the bar.

Wife and I have been coming here for many years, ever since the eponymous Bryden opened the restaurant. The cooks, bartenders and servers have always been a delight and tend to stay around, even showing up as customers years after they've graduated to further careers. That's impressive and a testimony to fine management.

Our own personal custom is to take advantage of the late-afternoon halfprice appetizer selections. These are an outstanding value, especially when paired with the good selection of reasonably-priced craft brews.

Another reviewer has dubbed Bryden's "the gem of Bloor West Village" and I would agree.

“Great cosy pub with awesome comfort food”
Reviewed 19 October 2009

What more could you want in a pub - friendly service, great food, good atmosphere and a cracking selection of beers on tap. Probably the best pub food in Bloor West Village.

“Best Pub Food in Bloor West”
Reviewed 25 June 2009

The food here is always good! It's a great local place to go, but the food is worth a trip from further away. The staff are also very friendly, but sometimes it can get too busy in there for just 1 server and a bartender. Make sure you try the "Best Damn Nachos" with the pulled pork.
