“Metropolitan Hotel, Toronto”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2010

We reserved this hotel through a walk in booking. When we made the reservation we were told the use of the pool, internet and breakfast were included in the price. However when we checked into the hotel we were told the pool and internet use was an extra charge ($9.00) and the breakfast was not free but $18.00 for cereal juice and coffee with a $5.00 voucher. When we approached the front desk to question the difference the staff were unapologetic and uncooperative. This is considered to be a 4 star hotel but compared to a 3 star hotel we stayed in previously in Toronto it is drastically overpriced for the service offered. The 3 star hotel included breakfast in the price. When speaking to management at the Metropolitan we found her management skills to be severely lacking and this treatment would not be accepted in our home country. Our advice to any traveller wishing to see Toronto would be to avoid the Metropolitan and be sure to confirm their deal in writing when making the reservation.

“Traveling to Toronto, DO NOT USE PARK LANE LIMO SERVICE”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2010

I feel a need to express to travelers about Park Lane Limo service. Actually not only to travelers but to anyone wanting to use this service for parties, weddings, limos etc.

I am not one to normally write reviews, and when i do i have never written a bad one, this is a first. But its bothered me so much that i felt a need.

I was a passenger in a limo with them a few days ago for a friends bachelorette/bachelor party. The evening started off nicely, and we had paid to have the limo for an enitre evening. Unfortunatly at 12:05am we had to cut our evening short, and called our limo driver to see if he could come pick us up. (we originally had a 2am schedule, however paid to have him ALL NIGHT). He informed us that he was 10min away. well 40min later no driver, called again, informed he was 15min away. 20 min later still no driver. This wen on untill about 130am when he finally showed up. At that point he decided to hand the bride to be a liability contract in which he was not able to make her a copy, didn't have a pen, was yelling and screaming at us for whatever reason, wouldn't allow us in the limo till it was signed, was taking up the whole street on college st and finally thanks to a \TOronto police officer we were on our way because he informed the limo driver not to block the way.

We had 3 drop offs scheduled for the way home. We made it to the first one (needles to say he took a major detour to get us back to that first stop), once dropped off the owner of the company pulled the bride to be out of the limo to have a discussion which was more a screaming match about wat not. She was trying to calm him down and let him know this is a residential area that once everyone is dropped of we can talk. 15min later back into the limo to head to mississauga. Well...instead the driver took us all the way back downtown, and made us take cabs home.

Heres the thing, we were not a rowdy group of people, most dont even drink. We found out later on, taht while he should have been within 10-15min away from our location downtown he decided to drive the limo all the way back to mississauga to clean the limo he claims we made a mess of. There was no mess. And if there was anything laying around, it was our responsibility as we were told to clean it up when we leave at 3am.

This company is rude to there passengers, harrases them and on this given day made us feel like hostages.

They claim to be torontos best, well i feel that recognition should be given to companies who really do care about their passengers.

No ones parties, weddings, proms, etc should ever have to be ruined by this company.

“One of my new favorite places...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2010

Toronto is on the list of places that you must visit. I am still here actually. I came for the National Society of Black Engineers Annual Convention, which was held at the Toronto Convention Center. Our attendees stayed at several hotels including the Hilton, Sheraton, Westin, Fairmont Royal York and the Intercontinental. Toronto is a pedestrian friendly city. The Convention Center is next door to Rogers Center, which is where the Blue Jays Play, and the CN tower which is a huge tourist attraction. A few blocks down the street is the Air Canada Center which is where the Maple Leaves and the Raptors Play. We had great weather and walked quite a bit, we felt say walking at night the streets are quiet and clean. The public transportation system is excellent and the taxi drivers run the meter at the appropriate rate and are fair and friendly. All of the hotels I listed are in the city and walking distance to restaurants and the Eaton center which is the Mall. The Toronto residents we're helpful and friendly and took time to give tips on where to eat and give directions when we got lost. Niagara Falls is a mere 100 miles away and is a great day trip from Toronto.. I will definitely come back!

“Toronto Summer Camp”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2010

It was amazing to practice in Toronto with competitive gymnasts from St.Petersburg Russia. Changing experience and learning new routines helped our local gymnasts to improve their skills and to meet new friends. Leisure time we spent at High Park and Center Island Toronto and of course Niagara Falls.

Hope sometime we will visit St. Petersburg with our team!
