We stayed here as a family. OUr only complaint was if if you are travelling with kids under 19, they can't enter the casino so you have to take a convoluted route to get to the back entrance and not walk through the actual casino. Similarly, the kids can't go in the sections with the hot tub because they would have to access the casino space. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Internet did not work in the rooms.

We spent a 4 day weekend at the Caesars Casino hotel in Windsor. The hotel and casino are fairly new and there are many nice places to eat. Being from Windsor the trip was more to visit family than to enjoy what a 'casino' offers. But I do have some tips for anybody looking to travel to the casino.

First, the casino is not that busy. I assume some will like that feature while others prefer the buzz of a very busy gaming floor.

We arrived on a Friday night and Frankie Valli was performing. It seemed like a sold out show with the theater holding 5,000 folks. Needless to say coming to the hotel with the other 5,000 guests made valet parking impossible, self serve parking challenging and tough to roll your luggage from the self car park to hotel registration. Security (plenty around all the time) were very helpful in getting us to the hotel registration desk.

There are two hotel towers that share a common registration desk and vallet parking (which is free). The Augustus Tower is where the registration and vallet parking locations are....you need to stay in that tower. The Forum Tower is on the other side of the casino and requires walking through the shops and casino floor, not fun with luggage, etc.

We ate dinner at Nero's one night and the food was very good. Service was slow, staff seemed very tired after a busy service for all the Frankie Valli concert goers. Had breakfast in the Artist Cafe every morning, the buffet was sub par but the omelet was very good off the menu.

My wife tried her luck at the slot machines, had some fun but left all her money in the machine. Wife also went to the gym and was impressed with the equipment, etc. Would recommend that you get a rewards card and see what your spending can earn you. Restaurants all seem to offer 10% off with the Rewards card which is nice. There does seem to be good entertainment options with regular concerts.

Overall, I would say that we would come back to the hotel again.

Room Tip: We booked a Deluxe room, all the suites were sold out due to the Frankie Valli show. We didn't...

We booked through Expedia due to a better rate. The property itself is okay but the people at reception give you the feeling that you are not welcome. There were 2 other people checking in and 5 people working the reception desk, but we couldn't check in with one of the 3 that had no customers because they were dedicated to "special lines" with no one there. Once we got to the CSR, Elly was snarky from the get-go, to the point where my husband (who is good with anything) just lost it on her. She also told me that SHE was expecting 500 invited guests to a lobster dinner and that they were very busy. I'm sure she downgraded us. All other staff was great, from security to housekeeping to valet to casino, bar and pit bosses. This property needs to invest in customer service training for their front line staff (reception).

Room Tip: Riverview is nice.

Went here for the first time in about year got 3 free nights had to pay $33 a night for a river view even though the place was not busy.Ate there 2 nights Neros and the new place.Food was ok not great a little pricey.Slots are very tight $5 blacjack was nice compared to $25 at Fallsview. The casino was not very busy and I see why the payouts are brutal. It is nice place but they should loosen up the machines a little bit and maybe they might get people to return overall it was a nice get away.

Went to a tigers game and stayed at caesars for the weekend. We took the shuddle bus to the game and after the game they were right there to take you back. The casino is smoke free and that was great. Nice rooms and good food, and walking distance to bars and restaurants.

The decor and rooms at Caesar's Windsor are beautiful, but for a supposed 6 star property, the rest of the operation lacks. First of all, it is ridiculous that they allow children in the Augustus Tower, but then practically nowhere else on the property. There is only one eating establishment on the property that children are allowed to go to, and that does not deserve the business, as it has possibly the worst service we ever experienced. The pool, Starbuck's, gift shop, etc. could have been made to allow children so that mom's that are watching the kids could have something they could do on-property if they want to leave the room. Also, the housekeeping staff don't really seem to want to work. They do a good job when they do your room, but getting them there is another story. They go through the corridors at 7:00 AM and place signs on your door that they are honoring your wish not to be disturbed and if you really want housekeeping, you have to call and request it. That is really bizarre... I can understand if they are there at 10:00 AM and there is still a Do Not Disturb sign, but at least give people a chance to wake up. I left my room twice at 8:00 AM, and there note was already there and it was not a coincidence, because friends we were there with that were on a completely different floor had the same thing happen. Caesar's name is on the line by having this Casino, so they need to start running it a little more Vegas-like. It is a beautiful property with great potential, but they really need to rethink some of their policies.

Decide to spend a night at Caesar's with dinner and a little gambling. The rooms at Caesar's were very nice. The staff were way beyond nice throughout the complex from valet parking, front desk, the casino and Nero's restaurant.
A quick drive, 3.5 hrs, from home to a very nice night out.
