Fantastic hotel and casino......next best thing to being in Vegas......very luxurious and hotel staff friendly ....free valet parking and pool and spa very nice too.....been going here for years and it just keeps getting better and better......the hotel and casino really knows how to copy Vegas for excitement and luxury.....my girlfriends and I make it a regular part of our annual vacations.....if you cant afford Vegas or don't like to fly, then Caesar's Windsor is the place for you......plus, downtown section is only a short walk away if you want to venture out and do something else....beautiful view of the Detroit River.......front desk also very accommodating to find you another room if yours isn't available in the tower you want....even upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost.....

Room Tip: doesn't matter whether you stay in rooms furthest away from elevator or not...they are all just...

Just returned from a one night getaway here. We went to Caesars to see the John Mellencamp concert and stayed for the night in the hotel. It was my first trip to Windsor and the casino. I wasn't expecting the glitz of Vegas-- but I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel and casino. The casino is immaculate-- so clean-- and love that there is no smoking. Every employee we encountered was as friendly as can be! Our room was very modern and clean. The bathroom was large and had everything we needed. The room even had a fridge! We ate at Taza- which I will review separately. We would definitely return!

I stayed here on August 2nd with a party of 4. We had 2 rooms. When I made the reservation, the lady on the phone (I believe her name was Kim) advised that they could not guarantee the room type (1 King vs 2 Queen beds).

Upon our arrival, we were pleased to find out that we were given rooms with 2 Queen beds as requeted. The lady at the front desk then said "here are the room keys for your 2 smoking rooms". I said "SMOKING????? We reserved non-smoking rooms". She responded that they do not guarantee anything about the room (bed types or smoking vs. non-smoking) and that they are completely sold out, so they could not switch our room.

I told her the lady on the phone advised that the bed types were not guaranteed but said nothing about that when she asked whether I wanted smoking or non-smoking rooms. The lady at the front desk simply responded "sorry sir, we do not guarantee anything about the room". She said they could bring an air filtration unit to the room for an hour or so, which would completely eliminate the smoke smell from the room, but we would have to be out of the room for that hour.

We asked that they please do that because I have issues with allergies. The cleaning lady brought the unit up to the room and we went to the casino for a few hours. We came back to the room, tired and ready to go to sleep (after losing, of course). We walked into the room and it smelled just as horribly as it did the first time we stepped in it 2 hours before. The "air filtration" unit did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!

On a positive note, the rooms are nice and clean, and so are the washrooms (which is the only reason I rated it poor instead of terrible).

Overall, this was a horrible experience at a hotel where I would expect top notch service, especially considering we were paying $300 per night per room. I would go on, but you'll have to excuse me as I need to try and get the smell of smoke out of my clothes.

My husband and I attended a show at Caesars Windsor August 1 and for convenience sake, and for a bit of a holiday feel, we decided to stay at the hotel. The check in process was very long....we got there right at check in time (4:00 pm EDT) to find a very long line up and not all windows open. In fact, the Manager let 2 staff go for their break right at this time! While I appreciate the employees right to a break the scheduling could have been handled better. We waited approximately 20 minutes. Our room was in the Forum tower so we had to trudge through the Casino to get to the elevator. It took us about 10 tries with both room keys to finally gain access to our room. The room was large but very, very dated. The lights in the bathroom flickered and popped before finally turning on....felt like a bad 70's disco. There is a separate shower and tub and the shower has that old small tile much of which was mouldy and not appealing. Made me wish I brought shower shoes. We ate at TAZA MEDITERRANEAN GRILL which was just okay. Waitress was not able to explain dishes very well and seemed to be very unhappy to be there. The concert was very enjoyable however it took us about 20 minutes to exit the venue even though we were right up front. It was actually very disconcerting as everyone is funneled through a small foyer up an escalator to the casino level. The gentleman beside me was getting quite panicked and commented that if a fire broke out we would all be dead. Having attended concerts at many other venues, including Caesars Las Vegas, this was by far the worst exit procedure I have ever encountered. The Casino was packed that night, over capacity I am sure, with large groups of very rowdy drunk young men. The smoking patios clearly state no alcohol however drinks were plentiful and even though staff walked through on numerous occasions nothing was ever said to these patrons. Back in our room we again were challenged to get our keys to work even though we had got them re-keyed after the first incident. Apparently this is not something new and the hotel is well aware of key problems. We were challenged to get the room to cool as the temperature control was tricky to operate. After spending a much sleepless night due to the hallway antics at 4:30 am we checked out at 7:03 am and vowed never to return. We voiced our opinion upon check out only to be met with a blank stare and half hearted insincere apology. We spoke with the valet gal about our experience and she said that they have been hearing more and more about the hotel going to the dogs and people like us (middle aged couple) being treated like second class citizens. It seems, through observation and speaking with a number of security and other employees, the hotel is looking to cater to the early 20's crowd and will turn a blind eye to their antics while persecuting the older generation. While we would like to attend future concerts there, due to the proximity to our location (recent relocation to Southern Ontario) we will not ever stay at this hotel again. Old, outdated, disinterested staff, and hostility towards our generation while letting the young ones run free has totally turned us off. Better off to stay at the much more reasonably priced hotels in the area and spend the extra $$ for a cab to and from the concert.

Dear TG1007

We are very concerned by your feedback and sincerely apologize for our breakdown in service. I will be reaching out to you so we can discuss further.
Please know we much adhere to all government issued guidelines when exiting a concert. If anything should happen as you mentioned fire, we have numerous fire exits that can be quickly activated.
We do hope you will change your mind and stay with us again.

Sincerely
Caesars Windsor.

Once again, stayed 3 nights at Caesars Windsor and overall, the stay was great! The only problem we encountered on this visit was our breakfast at The Artist Café. On our last day there, the service was extremely slow...we heard the excuses as we were being led to our table how short staffed they were....our waitress was rushing us to decide what we wanted...then we she came with the bill, expected us to pay immediately! Then because I guess she was going off on her break, handed us off the another waitress who basically stood at our table with the debit/credit machine and waited for us to pay the bill! We certainly felt like they were rushing us along. Did not enjoy that day. This is not the service we have encountered before but thought I should post something so maybe the management staff will address this issue so no one else will receive this kind of attention from the hotel.

Older casino / hotel. The rooms were almost sparse. There was a minimal amount of furniture. I expected rooms and service approximating other Caesar's properties. but no... There was a small TV and no room service after 11. There was a magnificent view across the river to Detroit.

We stayed here July 29 & 30. you could not ask for a better place to stay. We stayed in room 1169 which had a nice view of the Detroit skyline. The hotel service was excellent. The casino was fun and service there was very good. We went for a swim in the well maintained pool. It was very relaxing and the change rooms are first class. Plenty of towels and they even leave out razors and shaving cream for your convenience. The gym which I will use next time looks great and has plenty of workout equipment. Looking foreward to staying there again. Special mention to Dar who served us dinner in Legends bar, very good waitress.
