“Perfect Escape from the City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 November 2013

Ojibway is the perfect escape from the industrialized world. This beautiful area allows for hiking and exploring the beauty of nature with animals who are accustomed to humans and often walk by within feet of you. I have seen a number of deer who just casually walk by or stop and look while on the trails. It has so much to offer during all the seasons and the visitors centre is a nice stop as well as the bird watching porch where so many unique species come to feed and rest. It is truly a wonderful escape for nature lovers who do not want to travel out of the city.

“An Absolute Gem in the City of Windsor”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2013

The Nature Centre now operates out of a new facility and thus offers many more opportunities for close encounters of a natural kind. It is a City of Windsor facility and is located among some of the most endangered or species at risk habitat in Ontario--grasslands and associated wildlife. The head of the Centre is a world renowed competitive birder and perhaps, one of the most knowledgeable naturalist dealing daily with the public in Canada. If there is someting to dislike it is the prospect that the City of Windsor will bite off its natural nose to spite its commerical face--the prospect of big box store development near a neighboring race track and general commercialised trash zone. The CEntre has adjoining natural woods with walking trails, protected habitat and the omnipresent prospect of nasty commercial neighbors.

“Welcome to Nature”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2013

Welcome back to nature, Ojibway is a great get away from the city. My family packed a picnic and headed to Ojibway for the first time since the renovations. We spent the afternoon walking the trails, counting turtles in the pond, looking at deer that wander to the pond, butterflies and just the quietness of nature. The only thing is to remember the bug spray the mosquitos can be quite annoying.
