“This is a dorm...but a super nice dorm...much nicer than what you had in college”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

First off, do NOT (I repeat, do NOT) book this room on Expedia. Book the room directly through the college. Unfortunately, Trip Advisor sent me there to book my room, and I later discovered that Expedia charged a $30 USD commission, which the reservation form stated "not to show the guest." The room would have been $67 CND + tax + $100 CND deposit, had I booked through the hotel. As it was, I had to pay the $100 CND deposit upon arrival, which Expedia did not include in the reservation information.

Although this is a dorm, the entrance for each "suite" opens into a small kitchen area with a table, LARGE refrigerator and freezer, and microwave. There is a private bathroom with shower off the main area. There are two bedrooms, each with a double bed (college mattress), desk, drawers, two lamps, open closet area, and cable television.

The university just hooked up wifi; however, ethernet is still more reliable. The receptionist loaned me at no charge.

The doors are wide enough for a wheelchair, although you would need to bring your own shower/toilet chair for height/stability.

This is only a hotel in the summer months. During the year, it functions as a dorm. Please do not let the stained carpet in the lobby deter you. The rooms themselves are quite nice!

Clean, inexpensive, quiet and friendly. Adequate breakfast as well. Also a great place to walk around at night......go for a run, walk through the forest, etc. there is also a new sportsplex across the street which may be a great spot for a workout.

My wife and I stayed here in May for 1 night. When I booked it online, was not aware of it being part of St Clair college. I can honestly say it was a very nice experience and would gladly stay there again. The room has 2 bedrooms with a double in each room. A spacious washroom with a large shower and it also had main entrance area that also served a kitchen including microwave, toaster oven and fridge. Very clean and comfortable accommodations with virtual no noise from anywhere ( very quiet). Continental breakfast included.

Room Tip: Call them direct, don't book online as it maybe cheaper.

Excellent value for the price - the maximum capacity is four people (spread through two bedrooms) and means a lot more value for people traveling in groups. Relatively comfortable bed and bedroom spaces, and a few more amenities that you won't normally find in a residence (cable tv, mainly). Own kitchen and bathroom (also not common for a residence), but be warned that there are no kitchen supplies (I went to the dollar store and picked up a few things and it was just fine). My main complaint about the residence itself was that it run out of breakfast at before 9am (the breakfast is supposed to run until 10am). I was told to 'head over to tim horton's' (which was about 5km away, and I had no car). The breakfast on the other mornings of my stay were just fine (standard continental breakfast, don't expect anything fancy). I also rated the location low for this place. The location is probably good if you are driving, but I relied on the bus system and walking - not very much is close by, and the bus system is not too fantastic on the weekends. Overall, a fairly typical residence - if you've stayed in ones before, it is about average.

I think this is the most reasonable place a person/family can stay. It comes with a breakfast and is not far from shopping and decent restaurants. Would definitely stay here again, and would suggest it for others, Other colleges offer the same deal.

My son's soccer team booked this place for their recent tournament. Each room had two separate bedrooms with double beds, a kitchenette area with table, sink, counters, microwave, and fridge as well as a three piece bathroom with stand up shower. The room was clean but could have used some fresh paint but for the price and the knowledge that it is usually occupied by college students I couldn't complain. The team was able to have a bbq lunch outdoors as well as use the pool in an adjacent building. Staff was nice and breakfast was decent.

We booked a block of rooms while in town for our son's wedding and were very pleased. All the relatives could visit one another over breakfast and in their suites. Each suite had 2 separate bedrooms which was so nice for sharing with other couples and young children (rather than 2 doubles in the same room like most places). The continental breakfast included fruit and the food was plentiful.
