“Quintessential B&B experience with attentive hosts.”
Reviewed 28 August 2013 via mobile

From the time he greeted us at the front door upon our arrival at this lovely Victorian pink house, to the time he wished us safe travels, Nicholas and his staff took great care of us. We booked the three room suite on the third floor. The rooms were cozy and the home displayed old architectural treasures throughout. We looked forward to breakfast every morning where Nicholas was very attentive and shared with us his knowledge of the island. Nicholas also made available to us his car pass for the national parks. Ice water and cookies awaited us upon our return each evening. A pleasant home to rest your head after a busy day of sightseeing!

Stayed at the Black Fox Manor for a week ... hosts were more than gracious - delicious breakfasts every morning filled with interesting conversation and sharing funny life experiences. Nicholas was an amazing tour guide for us and we got to see everything and anything he suggested which made our trip a truly memorable one. Black Fox is a true hidden gem just 20 minutes outside of Charlottetown - a definite 'must stay' ... Thanks for the wonderful memories and great stay at the Black Fox Manor !!! And by the way, don't forget one of the best 'shared' experiences which is just around the corner from the Inn - Point Primm - best sunsets I've seen since the Carribean and Bancroft Ontario - and great Chowder House venue as well !!!

We recently booked a trip for 5 adults to celebrate the 80th birthday of a family member. From the time we arrived at Black Fox Manor, until we left two days later, we were treated like royalty. The facilities are charming; an old farmhouse (albeit more luxurious than most) which is tastefully decorated with period antiques. Every corner of the house presents itself with interesting things to look at. We felt just as much at home in the parlour as we did in our rooms. The rooms where we stayed were on the third floor and were typical to the farmhouse style with slanting roofs. We slept well, in the most comfortable feather beds ever! The second floor has more elaborate rooms for anyone wanting something more than the basic. If you go to Black Manor Inn, be sure to book a gourmet dinner. This was a fantastic experience, beginning with our own selection of the main course. The five course meal was presented over a two hour period, prepared in minute detail by Brad, the chef, and delivered with grace and courtesy by Nick, our host. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the meal and for the wonderful way in which it was presented and served. Sometimes 'gourmet' means small portions of different foods that are unusual. In this case, the meals were based on common farm/sea products but each was prepared with artistry and, in all cases, generous servings. The breakfasts provided each day were simply delicious, as well as bountiful. The inn is conveniently close to Charlottetown (20 min.) but is also set in the countryside along the coast, the best of both worlds. Nick is well versed in local history and geography and more than willing to share his ideas and information with you. We had a marvellous weekend, complete with a home made birthday cake for our birthday girl. All of us enjoyed the stay completely and give this Inn full marks for hospitality.

My family, a group of 9, made reservation for the Black Fox Manor, and it was simply amazing. The ambiance of the manor is extraordinary and the food is delicious. Your order has to be preplace but it comes as a five course sitting. Nicholas was a superb host and the food was a culinary delight. We spent two and a half hours in the manor enjoying a wonderful dinner and an experience that will last a lifetime. Tou will be amazed by the selection, quality and price of the food.

We arrived, two friends, at 7 p.m. without a reservation, which I don't recommend. Nicholas took us in and set us up in two charming third-floor bedrooms with shared bath in this lovely 19th Century house in a quiet country setting. Asked where we might find a restaurant in this relatively remote part of PEI east of Charlottetown, he said they could "dig up something" for us for dinner at 8:30. What they "dug up" was a delicious, homemade soup, the best pot roast I've ever had with a rich wine gravy and excellent mashed potato. Dessert was fresh raspberries on ice cream. We were surprised at breakfast to find a couple from Newfoundland who had arrived at 11:30 p.m. (not recommended). Breakfast began with fresh mixed berries in yogurt, orange juice, excellent coffee, thick bacon and stuffed french toast, all served by our gracious host.

A last minute booking that we are so happy we did. We decided to experience PEI a bit differently then what we normally do So we booked this bed and breakfast and wow we loved it. A wonderful host, great food, clean and comfy beds made our over night get away for us and 2 teenagers a fabulous experience. In the morning our breakfast was fit for a king with Yogurt topped with fresh fruit, homemade hot chocolate, amazing french toast and bacon, smoothies, juice, coffee, alll made fresh and piping hot and during our meak Nicolas graciously told us the history of the home and area...definately would visit again.

We had the good luck to be here 10Oct.---Canada's Thankgiving holiday. This inn is between Charlottetown and the ferry to Nova Scotia. I HIGHLY recommend a stay here, not just for the lovely pastoral setting, the tasteful elegance & comfort of the furnishings, or the warm & friendly hospitality of our host Nicholas who made us feel right at home in his antique-filled home. Go just for a meal at Brad Potter's table! Brad, Nicholas's partner, is the "chef extraordinaire" who prepared us a 5-course "Michelin-worthy" dinner (and we've luckily had those in our travels) that we won't soon forget. It was PERFECT from the table dinnerware to "waddling away" to relax in the front parlor. And the breakfast before our departure was incredible, too. Go there for a night, a week, a dinner (call them as this isn't a drop-in restaurant), just do yourself a BIG favor and GO. My husband and I will hopefully return and stay longer the next time in this beautiful manor home. Worth the drive from Ct.
