“BEST Bed and Gourmet Breakfast in Charlottetown!!”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

First of all, I have stayed in numerous hotels, hostels, motels, cabins, huts around the world and there is truly nothing more cozy than a Bed and Breakfast. Having said that, I had a wonderful opportunity to stay at The Dawson House for New Year's Eve 2013. Although we were fortunate to book the 'bridal suite', ALL of the rooms are very charming! Each room is bright, clean and full of all the comforts of home - huge Jacuzzi bathtubs, lots of light, comfortable beds and plenty of unique furniture pieces ready for short-term or long-term storage. The lovely owners are very energetic (super experienced with international hospitality), extremely conversational and able to accommodate any requests. The dining room is gorgeous and the food was amazing - not your typical 'continental' menu, lots of options, even for the fussy guests! I would consider the mealtime atmosphere a great blend of a 5-star-restaurant and the comfort of dining at your own home! Anyway - I really enjoyed my experience and I highly recommend staying there.:)

We are so happy we stayed at the Dawson House.
Everything from the super clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful house all decorated for the season, to the fantastic hot breakfasts, chatting with hosts Stacey and Randy, to the WiFi everywhere, and more we really loved everything about the Dawson House.
We highly recommend.

Room Tip: We stayed in the front room second floor. Very nice!

My wife and I are retirees and have decided to visit all of Canada. We decided last September (2013) to visit PEI and stayed a week there as we did not want to rush our stay. We loved it at Dawson house. Randy and Stacey treated us like family and we felt like family. Breakfast every day was a delicious treat and we loved Stacey's baking especially her muffins and banana bread. Sorry if we were wrong Randy but we assumed it was Stacey's good baking. Randy also made some wonderful french bread and other breakfast delights. (Warning: Randy loves to fill your plate with his delights. Seconds were the norm) We like the less crowded atmosphere as there are four rooms catering to eight persons. The other guests were wonderful company. The rooms were well kept and the decor of the home was an adventure into the past. The B&B is located about 15 mins. from the downtown core and this afforded us great walks around the boardwalk and to/from downtown. Randy has some great tips on the restaurants. At the end of the week, we didn't feel like leaving as it really felt like home especially with the great breakfasts every morning not to mention a few tit bits sometimes to take on the road. The tray of candy and jar of cookies in the hallway encouraged snacking and didn't help my waistline. If/when we return to PEI this is where we would be staying. We highly recommend Dawson.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Premier room which suited us well as it was on the second and not the third floor...

What a wonderful venue from which to visit Charlottetown and PEI. Our hosts Stacey and Randy gave new meaning to making us feel welcome, beautifully catered to, and very informed about places to see, visit, and enjoy. The House was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and breakfast each day was superb and delicious. We have told everyone about the place and recommend it without any hesitancy. Jim and Helen

We stayed at many excellent B&Bs during our maritime trip, but the Dawson House was the absolute best. This splendid house is located in a tree-lined neighbourhood of similar grand Victoria-era homes, within 15 minute walk of downtown restaurants and other sights.

Dawson House is a bright and beautifully furnished B&B. Our room was spacious, immaculate, comfortable, and we could have happily stayed there longer if our schedule had permitted.

Our young hosts are well suited to the hospitality profession, taking genuine interest in their guests and offering tips and suggestions. The breakfasts had everything one could want. We highly recommend this B&B.

And for anyone travelling on business, and tired of the usual anonymous hotel offerings, this is the place to stay!

Recently we toured the Canadian Atlantic Provinces for 10 days, and we stayed in B&B's. The Dawson House was, by far, the best of them all. The Dawson House is very close to downtown Charlottetown. The proprietors (Randy and Stacey) were hosts extraordinaire. The breakfasts were excellent, especially the french toast. Our room was very clean and neat. The proprietors were extremely helpful helpful to us in ferreting out local places of interest and in navigating the local geography. We found that having the proprietors actually living in the B&B makes for a much more rewarding stay. As the Dawson House contributed greatly to a very enjoyable stay in Charlottetown, we plan to return.

Randy and Stacey were great hosts. Our room was the one upstairs and it was gorgeous. The whole experience with the hosts and the beautiful home were so wonderful. We were there for two nights and would go back anytime. They suggested places to eat the first night. We went to the bistro down on Main St. It was delicious. The next night we went to the school that teaches chefs. Oh, was that ever good. The total experience was so relaxing and complete. Add the beautiful farms, beautiful coastlands and traveling across the wonderful Prince Edward Island, I didn't want to leave. We just wanted to keep going. Thank you Randy and Stacey. It was a trip to your wonderful Island and your home we will never forget

Room Tip: Any room is good. We had the top floor room. Gorgeous
