“Good experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2013

My wife and I stayed there while attending a conference in Ch'town. We stayed in the main hotel which is a renovated 1800 style residence with lots of character. The service was second to none and the food was great. It is the only hotel we ever stayed at that offered a full sit down breakfast with waiter service as a continental breakfast included in the room price which was better than fair for the service and accommodations offered. In addition, the furniture is elegant and stately looking. On the down side, there are no elevators and the stairwells are narrow. We stayed in the "tower" room which it is three stories up with a dubious, narrow looking fire exit outside the room that made us feel a little vulnerable to a possible smoke and fire incident although there was a sprinkler outside our door and smoke alarms. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

We stayed there on our wedding night, the staff is beyond exceptional and friendly. We also ate at the restaurant on the premises, excellent food beyond expectations. I loved the century building's historic charm and beautiful decor. How could I not adore this location

Nice old-style inn with a lounge and restaurant, great location, free parking, wi-fi, etc. Service was friendly and the "Standard Inn" room was comfortable and nice. I have nothing bad to say about my experience, and yet everything good I have to say seems to have a "but" after it.

The bed was set in a window alcove and I heard no noise from inside the hotel, but I found the morning street noise a little loud because of it. I had none of the problems with the shower that others have posted about, and I wouldn't have expected to see an elevator in this type of 3-story inn. The restaurant/lounge had a great patio that would have been nice in the summer and they gave us 10% off the already reasonable food prices, but they seemed to cater mostly to an older clientele so most meals were served at 5pm and they were closed early. The free breakfast was very tasty and was served late (until noon I think), but the menu was limited because we were guests and I would have liked to see some healthy options on the menu.

All in all, my complaints are minor and I would recommend this inn, but my opinion might be different if I was paying on-season prices.

Really friendly staff, the receptionist was more than happy to give us advice on how to get about on PEI. We were given a fantastic breakfast.

The breakfast is a buffet so excellent food.

Rooms are huge and clean, and lovely Aveda freebies in bathroom! Excellent standard of room, even including a fridge and microwave

Really good location. Easy to get to Anne of Green Gables!

We recently spent 4 nights at the Dundee Arms. Our accomodations were excellent. What really makes the Dundee a relaxing home away from home is its staff. Tanya at the front desk was very accomodating and made certain our dining reservations were looked after. Tammy in the pub was very friendly and we enjoyed visiting with her as we ended a busy day. The waitresses were all very efficient and friendly and housekeeping was quick and on task.
The Dundee's location is perfect for walking downtown. Just a couple of blocks to all the attractions! We ate in both the dining room and the pub and the food was excellent. The Bread Pudding is spectacular!

This is the first time that I have ever posted on TripAdvisor as I felt that this place warranted a few comments. My husband and I had a two night stay at the Inn this past weekend. We were visting Charlottetown as I was participating in the half-marathon. Our room was very clean, comfortable and modern. Our room was in the annex part of the facility. The staff were all very welcoming each time we entered the building and helpful during our stay. We requested a late check-out with no questions asked. We ate in the pub a couple of times and in the dining room as well. The food was great and very reasonable. We were also pleasantly surprised by the continental breakfast served to us both mornings in their beautiful diningroom and had a full menu with many hot breakfast choices. We would definitely recommend this Inn as it is truly a little "gem" in Charlottetown.

Room Tip: The rooms in the Annex are modern whereas the rooms in the Inn are an older style.

Had a two night stay to get away for some relaxation after our wedding. We stayed in suite 23 and loved every second we spent in the room. The heart shaped tub was a great romantic setting and the four post bed was the most comfortable we've ever had while on travels.
The staff is friendly, approachable and professional and make you feel very welcome from the moment you check in to the moment you check out. Of considerable mention, desk workers Stephanie and Tasha were great to deal with.
The continental breakfast is great and offers more choices than most I've ever had.
Highly recommend the Dundee Arms Inn and we will be going back again in the future. It's a great value for the price.
