Close to everything , one of the better value places in Charlottetown . Their upgraded beds are excellent . They offer basic restaurant service but plenty of options close by .
Rooms are large enough and very comfortable .

We had a Royalty King Suite ($128) on the second floor of the main building overlooking the pool. The room is larger than the normal room because of the pull-out sofa bed and that's why we chose it. In front of the sofa bed was a coffee table, floor lamp and on one wall was a full-length mirror. The room was a nice size and nicely decorated in brown and beige colours. The king-sized bed with pillow-top mattress was comfortable and had four pillows. Two bedside tables were on either side of the bed and two lamps above each table. There was a clock as well. There was free WI-FI, but it was intermittent.

The room had a very large wooden unit in one piece that lined one wall. This unit had a good size desk with chair, telephone and lamp. Next to it was a microwave, ice bucket and below, a mini-fridge with chocolate coated chips and G7 white wine ($19.99) for purchase inside. Next to this was a table with flat screen TV, coffee maker, tray, coffee, condiments, paper cups and a bench seat below the table. Next to this was a three-drawer bureau with deep space. On top of this was a tray with G7 red wine ($19.99) for purchase as well and two wine glasses. There was lots of lighting in the room.

The closet was large and has approximately 14 hangers, shelf space, extra pillows and blankets as well as iron and ironing board. There was no room safe.

The biggest disappointment was the bathroom. It was dated and the walls were in poor shape. It looked as if there was water damage on the wall next to the tub as it was blistering and areas of the wall had been painted over in patches. The shower head was very low and if you are over 5'10" you will probably have to crouch to shower. The vanity and sink area was very small and left little room for your bath items. There were two facecloths, two bath, two hair and two hand towels. There was the usual sample-size shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, vanity kit and shower cap in a basket. There was little room for hanging damp towels. An extra towel bar is needed on the wall opposite the toilet where there is plenty of room to place one. There was also a hairdryer in the room as well as a heat lamp switch in addition to the light and fan switch.

The room had an air conditioner, but I have yet to hear a quiet one in a hotel and this was no exception. There is a small gym and an indoor pool in the building.

The best part of the stay was the free hot breakfast in the dining room. Today's daily special was sausages, scrambled eggs and hash browns. Also available were muffins, cereal, fresh orange as well as other juices, toast, coffee, teas, fresh fruit, etc. Today most hotels are offering free breakfasts to stay competitive and this one is very good. Wait staff are friendly and very accommodating. Even though the breakfast was free we left a tip.

The hotel front desk staff were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Unfortunately this Rodd Hotel isn't close to downtown, but it is within close proximity to shopping malls, restaurants and service stations.

Room Tip: Rooms at back away from elevator & above pool are quiet.

I stayed in one of the drive-up rooms, which did not appear appealing on the outside. The inside was furnished like a hotel room and the bathroom was clean. The staff were friendly and personable. I would stay here again.

This was my second time staying at the hotel for business and I would stay again and again. They introduced me to their new Every Stay program, so now I get points when I stay for "golf". So I went out for a mountain bike ride, and when I came back the maintenance staff offered to wash down my bike and place in a safe area over night. That is service.
I may just come back this summer with the family. Thanks staff at front desk for making me feel like I have been a long time guest.

Room Tip: rooms are renovated, as is the entire hotel. I like a front facing room, and there isn't any roa...

We have stayed at The Rodd Royality on different occasions and we were pleasantly surprised with the improvements. The diningroom staff were excellent and were there to help when they were needed and the diningroom was kept very clean. Our Check in/out was done very quickly and everything about the property was explained to us. Our room was very clean and my niece was very excited about all the pillows. The housekeeping staff are on top of everything. I had walked out of my room in the morning and was asked if I needed anything.
After such a great stay this weekend I would recommend anyone that is looking for a place close to shopping area and a nice overall place to stay this is the place to choose. :)

We stayed at the Rodd Royalty recently and were pleasantly surprised at the recently renovated rooms! We had booked within the inn, but as we were traveling with our dog we were offered a room within the motel area to make taking him in and out easier. The motel room was clean, updated, and had everything we needed at a great rate! We did notice that it became very hot overnight and into the morning, even though it was quite chilly outside, so we had to turn the air conditioner on. I would recommend figuring this out before going to bed! The free breakfast was a great touch, and was better quality than other chain hotels. The front desk staff were very helpful! I would definately stay here again.
