“Needs work”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013

We stayed at the Comfort Inn for two nights. The front desk employee (Jessica) was very informative and helpful. Our room was on the ground floor with access from the sliding doors. We were very disappointed that they still allowed smoking on the premises as the smell does linger in the halls even though we had a non-smoking room. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Our t.v. remote did not work because someone had put the batteries in upside down and they also set our alarm to go off at 5 in the morning. Got a good chuckle out of that and checked every clock radio there after . As it was a holiday the Inn was full and there was little room to eat breakfast but it was understanding. Breakfast was okay but nothing special. The Inn needs some updating but we liked the location though we found it a little pricey.

We stayed here for 1 night, august 5th we got the king suite as we had a 2 year old child and we wanted the microwave and mini fridge in the room. We were on the first floor room was nice and clean.....the reservation made us request a crib in the room but when we showed up there was no crib. As well we went to bath or son and there was no plug for the drain, we had to stand in line at the front desk ahead of someone looking for ice as machines were out and listen to front desk staff make reservations for people at another hotel..foodstuffs breakfast was okay nothing fancy mostly cereal and sitting room is very limited... Bed were super comfy.. I'm a travel agent and ido a far amount of travel and I have seen hotels fight for your business and happiness a bit more I don't feel we got our money worth for the price paid

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel.

I am happy to report that in September we are having all of our guest rooms renovated as well as a hot breakfast and a breakfast room. We are very excited about these changes. Thank you for your compliments on the cleanliness of our property. I apologize that you had to wait in line, unfortunately in the summer our staff can be quite busy at times. I apologize if the wait upset you.

Hopefully next year you will give us another try as there will be exciting new changes.

We consider any feedback as good feedback

Thanks again,

Sincerely,

This is our second stay at this location, we stayed here last year this same weekend for the same soccer tournament. The staff is very friendly and helpful, there is a small but nice continental breakfast. There is no pool but we have not had time for one anyway. Rooms are spacious and clean. The only draw back to this hotel is that they still have some smoking rooms on the lower floor and the smell from them is strong through the bottom floor, so I would suggest asking for second floor rooms. Hopefully by this time next year when we return this property will be smoke free.

As seasoned travellers to the island, we decided to economize on accommodations for this trip and forego the comforts of a cottage stay. This had the effect of keeping us out and about for the duration of our visit, which worked quite well. Plus, the hotel was not that luxurious. In fact, it was a bit run down. Most disturbing of all, however, was the smell. Although the first-floor rooms were marked as non-smoking, there was an overwhelming sour tobacco smell throughout the hallways, which we had to walk through to get to our second-floor room. The air freshener used to mask the smell was equally repulsive. Luckily the air quality on the second floor was much better. There were upsides to the stay: the Guardian newspaper was dropped at our door each morning; staff were friendly; a small continental breakfast was free; and McDonald's coffee was within easy walking distance. We did save money, which we were able to repurpose for seafood meal purchases.

Thank you for your review of our property.

I'm glad to hear there were upsides to your stay. We do currently have smoking rooms in our hotel in one section of the downstairs rooms. Unfortunately the travelling of smoke down the hall has been an issue. I am however, happy to report that we will be having major renovations this September that will eliminating our smoking rooms. Our new hot breakfast will also be coming along with those renovations. My motto is that any feed back is good feed back, so thank you very much for yours.

Sincerely,

Although the location was quite good with easy access to downtoen Charlottetown and the highways, the value was less than expected. The value was less than I expected for a Comfort Inn. The room was clean and the selection of TV channels was excellent. The breakfast selection was meagre with nothing hot excempt the coffee and anything you put in the toaster. In addition, the breakfast room was often "standing room only". The staff was very friendly except for the older breakfast lady who was devoid of a personality.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property

You had a lot of compliments in your review and I would like to thank you very much for those. The quality of breakfast at Comfort Inn's continues to improve and ours is no exception, we are switching to a hot breakfast this September. It has been something the company has been working on and we are very excited it is almost here.

Thank you very much for your feedback.

It's not every Comfort Inn that offers a warm breakfast but this one does. The scrambled eggs were very good and the breakfast in general had everything anyone could hope for.

The room was clean and comfortable. The lobby was being renovated when we were there and it appeared as though some of the rooms were also getting worked on so the owners clearly care about their property.

Overall I was very satisfied and would return again.

Shopping, theatre, university, restaurants, churches, gas and diesel; this hotel is within two blocks of all of that.
The rooms are nice; a little underlit but very comfortable.
One of the last hotels, that I know of, that still has smoking rooms (much to my chagrin). Why are smoking rooms on the main floor; doesn't smoke rise?
While this is a nice clean hotel, the crowning jewel in it's crown is Laura Taylor, the daytime personnel on front desk. Ever cheerful and willing to answer your questions, Comfort Inn has a gem of a lady representing them. I will stay here again and again when I happen to have the good fortune to visit Prince Edward Island..I hope it is soon.
