“Old But Well Maintained”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

Located in a prime location in Charlottetown, Rodd Charlottetown is a fantastic hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and well kept. Although the bathroom was old fashioned, it was still very functional. The hotel had a very nice charm and stay was very pleasant overall. The only problem encountered was limiting parking space.

Thank you for you comments regarding your stay. We take pride in maintaining our heritage décor. We are addressing our limited parking space with the use of a parkade one block away if no space is open in our lot.

My family and I stayed at the Rodd charlottown hotel the people at the front desk seemed annoyed that we were asking questions about the rooms and the surrounding area some of the staff were nice enough to help us however some were not and after driving all day we expected a lot more we ordered a cot and after waiting for an hour had to call back multiple times to get a cot brought up after leaving the hotel a bag with a lap top was left in the parking lot by mistake and miscommunication with my family we called mulipletimesto see if it was returned and then came to the conclusion it had been stolen we asked to have the cameras in the back parking lot reviewed and they would not bring in a manger to do so as it was a Sunday and for confeditiality reasons the simple ppl working the desk are not permited to see the cameras and i can appriciate that however they just flat out said no no explenation of that I could understand if itwasjust clothing in the bag how ever it was an expensive lap top with many memory's on it and it was very important to me i was clearly upset and frustrated and it seemed that because I'm just a small town girl I don't get the kind of attention someone with money would get after calling the police the cameras were reviewed and we came to find out that none of ur cameras point in the back parking lot in speaking with other people from the surrounding buildings they said it happens all the time why not face ur camera where the cars are parked what if something more serious was to happen then just a stolen bag .... Something to consider since you classify urself as a business hotel with all the fancy people who are suppose to want to stay there What if there mercedes or their bmws get broken into When asked about the cameras ur staff had no idea howto even answer the question and there was no manager on at the time ... Suggestions manager should be there at all times to answer questions ... I'm unhappy with the service I received from this hotel and wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there pay the 100$extra go to the best western ... Or park down the block make sure ur cars are locked and don't forget anything there because it could be gone in a heart beat why not have ur security walking around outside the parking lot more and yes the location to everything is nice but ur hotel wasn't worth my 1000$ lap top sorry to say

The room are small and old. I stay in hotel an average of 60 night each year. This one was the worst regarding price and quality. Our room was right over a wedding party. Are all the room that I will book with you will be at bad location like that or it is just that I been unlucky.

Nice old Hotel with lots of history and charm
Overall a good stay with one exception. We booked 2 rooms for our stay on the 4th floor, one room was available when we arrived around noon but we had to wait until after 4 PM for the 2nd room and did not get a room with the amenities requested (2 Double Beds over 1 Queen Size Bed). The situation was made all the worse when guests without reservations checked in and were assigned rooms while we continued to wait.
The Front Desk staff seems to have put us on a low priority and saw no need to inform Housekeeping to make it a priority to make the 2nd room available as soon as possible maybe because we had access to the first assigned room. Wrong Decision!

Thank you for bring this to my attention regarding the wait for your second room. I have talked with our front desk supervisor and she informed me sometimes guests are late in checking out and to get a second room on your floor they had to wait. But this should have been explained to you along the way. Again sorry for the delay and thank you for your gracious comments about our hotel.

We had a marvellous time. Walking distance to everything, terrific staff, delicious meals and exquisite atmosphere. Our room was clean and bright. The roof top deck aloud us to see above and beyond. I would recommend Rodd Charlottown in a heart beat.

Great location, pristine clean rooms, nice decor. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.
I felt bad for the front desk staff though - it was SO HOT and they had to wear a suit & tie ensemble. Still serviced with a smile though! :)
Also -the rooftop patio has a spectacular view!

Room Tip: The "first floor" rooms are actually a level up - nothing on ground level.

My Wife and I have just finished our stay with the Rodd Charlottetown and were not disappointed.
The rooms are beautiful, the staff are very friendly and polite and the restaurant is to die for. My wife and I both ordered the AAA Canadian Porter House steak with mash and vegs. The presentation was 5 star and the taste was like no other. Honestly the best meal I have ever had. The cocktails were spot on my wife had 2 strawberry smoothies and was raving about them. Can't beat the price a must go while in Charlottetown.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful with mid century furniture feels very classy.
