The location was perfect. The rooms had been updated but felt more like hotel rooms than traditional B&B rooms but were very nice. They need to upgrade their wifi, it was super slow but free. The breakfast was adequate but so many people still didn't feel like traditional B&B. Employees were super nice and friendly. The location next to downtown Charlottetown and walkable to most everything made this an idea spot.

Room Tip: Ask for room #9 if you don't mind stairs, it has balcony and best view.

We had high expectations for this stay, since it was the most expensive of the three nights we would be in hotels. And we were not disappointed. Alex was the perfect hostess as we checked in. The parking is free, well located, safe, and plenty of spots. You are made to feel right at home here. Our room on the first floor had a small porch to sit outside on, and we had a well equipped kitchenette area. The decor was warm and inviting, and everything was fresh and clean. The location is just a short distance from an area with restaurants, and the water.

We stayed here the last week of July, in the middle of the week. We were traveling with 3 other couples. Our room was large, comfortable and had a small balcony. However, the balcony overlooked the parking lot and was not particularly inviting. But it was a pleasant place to have the first cup of morning coffee. As others have stated the Inn is not a pure B & B. Frankly, we liked the fact that our rooms were more private and quite than some of the B & Bs we have experienced. The breakfast was very good, healthy, and different each day we were there. The Inn is very conveniently located to everything downtown, and just one block from the seaside walkway in front of the Governor's House. Nice place for an early morning stroll. The staff was VERY nice, in particular Alexis. Because we were in a group of eight, we particularly enjoyed the larger outside deck on the second floor. It was a lovely place to sit in the evening and enjoy a drink and a visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a refrigerator and kitchen sink.

As others have stated, the house is not a heritage house, It's been remodelled and seems to have additions put on over the years. Some rooms have little porches and kitchenettes. A nice place overall with good, helpful staff. Located on a residential street with sufficient parking in the back. Our room was not ready for us even though we didn't arrive until after 2:30pm. They apologized for the unprofessional oversight though...so not a big deal. They offer breakfast but it ends at 9:30am. As we like to sleep in after such a long trip, we did not get a chance to try it. We did not ask to be accommodated for a late breakfast but it may be something they could do if you asked.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an outdoor porch.

We stayed at the Heritage Harbour House Inn for three nights during the beginning and end of our honeymoon. We loved it! The location is great - an easy walk to downtown Charlottetown, the harbor, and some of the other sights. The inn itself is very well-kept. Our room(s) were spacious, comfortable, and incredibly clean. The rooms had great amenities - a stove, small refrigerator, dishes, and cooking supplies. The room on the last night had a balcony. There is a parking lot out back and several nice common areas in the inn.
Breakfast was delicious - we were given a choice between two options (eggs or pancakes), and there was a continental setup. On our last day, we had to catch an early flight and had to leave before breakfast, so the staff left us a boxed breakfast to eat on our way.
The staff was friendly, courteous, and very hospitable. They answered our questions, took care of things like booking a taxi for us to the airport, offered advice on what else to do in PEI, and gave us directions.
Overall, a great, clean, comfortable inn with a friendly staff and good location. We would definitely stay here again!

There were two deciding factors in our choosing the Inn. First was the location and second was the amazing breakfast. Let me confirm that all you have read about the location and the breakfast are correct.

It is on a very quiet block, yet just a couple of blocks away from everything.
The breakfast was the best of the 5 hotels we were in for our trip.
The room was huge (with a partial kitchen, balcony, and extra large bathroom) and Inn public areas were amazing. You could see yourself relaxing with a book in many a nook found around the Inn. Our room had a queen size bed and fold out couch. With the half kitchen and big bathroom, it made for things a bit tight when both beds were in motion.

Parking was enough, but just barely enough. The hotel was fully booked, and so was the parking lot. We had a spot, but I could see an occasion where that might not happen.

While the breakfast was amazing, we were there at the end of the breakfast window. Because of this, there were running low on selection. There was still enough, but just like the parking lot, I could see a time when they run out. Also, they started cleanup while we were still eating, making breakfast not as relaxing as it could have been (kinda like a restaurant vacuuming when people are still eating at the end of the night).

Finally, I was expecting this to be more of a BnB, but when we got there and saw the size of the business we were initially disappointed that it was run like a small hotel. After we saw how smoothly it ran, we were glad of the decision to run it like a small hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was certainly huge and quiet on the back side and the second floor. I did not see an eleva...

The Heritage Harbour House was overall a good place to stay. The location was fantastic, just a short walk to downtown. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and mostly comfortable. There was a king size bed, which was actually two twin beds pushed together - we realized this very quickly when lying on the hard bedframes in the middle of the bed. We had a balcony, but it faced the parking lot so the view wasn't great. Breakfasts were tasty and the staff was efficient. The servings were a little on the small side, but there was other food available (cereal, muffins, etc). The Inn is starting to show its age - while clean, the decor is dated and some updates were not done well (for example, there were three different shades of paint on the exterior siding visible from our balcony). The staff was friendly enough, although we didn't have much interaction with them after check in. I did appreciate that the woman at the front desk gave us a tour when we checked in, and showed us some of the amenities (DVDs and books available, etc). Overall, the Inn was a good place to stay, decent value for the money.

Thank you for your review!

Yes, the different colours on the siding was a hasty fix from a renovation (removing the old AC unit,) that was completed literally three days before you checked into your room. I apologize for this, and assure you that we have a much nicer exterior paint job at the present time.

Our breakfasts are revamped! We have much better entrees this time around, and will continue to push out healthier and tastier breakfasts as time goes on.

As for the bed, yes...our studios feature two luxury twin mattresses wrapped with a luxurious king memory foam topper. However, there is no middle bedframe as the bed is custom designed so that the two halves fit seamlessly together. I'm not sure what you felt in the middle of the bed, but it wasn't a bed frame!

I hope the rest of your PEI trip was enjoyable! Let us know if you are every back in town!

Cheers
