This "tour" cost $5/pp and there is no touring. They only make ice cream on certain days so basically we spent our time watching silly videos. Most of the time they talked about the t-shirts and not the ice cream. And the shop is more of a t-shirt shop than an ice cream shop.

We did the factory tour at Cows Creamery ($5 admission each), and what a delight it was. It started with a short video about making their premium ice cream (which is the best we've ever had), then continued with stops at their T shirt-making area, cheese-aging area, and ice cream making area. There were samples along the way of ice cream, cheese, and cow chips (chocolate-covered potato chips). We were there on a Sunday, so no one was working in the areas we visited, but they had videos showing what happens in them. Very informative, and a company that has fun while being serious with keeping high quality in their products. Check out the T shirts - very inventive.

This was good for a half-hour diversion, and the ice cream is fabulous so the free sample was appreciated at the end of the tour. The paper hat makes a cute ticket-gimmick.

Love the addition of cheese to their makings. And it was tasty! Again - sample led to a buy...

Weakness was that the video and tour patter give only standard company overview and misses some elements - e.g. contributions to the community?, vision/mission?, family recipe? and I don't know if that's because they don't really have much in those areas or just they fail to capilalize on these in the tour info.

In any case - it's neat to see, and fun tasting...

The factory tours are terrible. You spend $5/person, so a family of 6 was 30 dollars. Then you walk through only to see a bunch of videos. No one was working. I could youtube how to make ice cream. You're money is better spent on a cone, considering after the tour we still had to wait 15 min in that line to get a cone. My kids were so irritated by the end, not a good experience at all. If you're insistent on going, buy your cone first. At least give you something to do while watching videos.

$5 tour promising "samples". first sample-chocolate covered potato chips. not a full chip mind you, they break them up and you get a bitty piece. second sample-cheese. it was good. third sample-ice cream. this is where it got a little weird. they give you a sample about the size of a golf ball in the little paper cups like the ones you put ketchup in and you suck it out............really! I was assuming that at least we'd receive a mini cone, or mini cup of ice cream. this is after you walk to three windows, look into manufacturing area (where no one was working) and see 3 videos. I was so disappointed that we spent $20 bucks on this that we left without even buying a cone outside! most "tours" of this nature are free, and for $5 I expected some ICE CREAM SAMPLING. don't bother with this one, go to Cavendish instead and see firsthand how they dye the PEI
dirt shirts---for free---and even speak to a live employee about it!
