This is a wonderful bed and breakfast inn...the owner is gracious; the public areas and the quest rooms are beautifully decorated with every amenity (including a small flashlight on the bedside table) that a weary traveler needs; and the breakfast was the best I ever had in a B and B. I will return to PEI just to stay there!

This historic B&B is situated in the historic district of Charlottetown close to all amenities. Shopping, restaurants and within walking distance to the downtown.Private parking and off the main street this romantic and well preserved building is a part of local history. The interior has been lovingly and accurately returned to it's original period in time with paint ,English wallpaper and furniture reminiscent of an earlier age .The suite are spacious ,clean, quiet and a romantic getaway for any couple or family. The whirlpool tub or walk in shower gives the choice of refreshment before crawling into the embroidered bedsteads in the period bedrooms.
The breakfast served in the massive period dining room makes all feel like royalty while eating on the good china under the large crystal chandelier.Very worth the stay as a couple on a romantic getaway for a night, or a week. We had a 9 and a 3 year old with us and we made to feel right at home during our stay at the Fitzroy.Thank you to the owner who has opened her home to us and allowed us to stay in a beautiful B&B and piece of PEI history.

My husband and I spent a week here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Prince Edward Island is beautiful! Fitzroy Hall is conveniently located in Charlottetown - with lots of great shops and restaurants within walking distance. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and quaint, filled with beautiful antique furniture. The staff at Fitzroy Hall was very helpful and knowledgeable, providing lots of great tips for things to see and do. As an added bonus, the breakfasts were delicious! We loved the homemade preserves and jams. Overall, it was a wonderful, relaxing vacation.

We are four people staying at the Landing suite of the Fitzroy Hall. We walked through the door, the lady gave us a blank look (the "What are you doing here, may I help you?" look) as if we have just disturbed a residential house. We introduced ourselves, told her our names, (in our attempt to be friendly and to break the ice). Instead of telling us her name, which is what normal people would do, she continued with the blank face and said "oh, you're the two couples". I found that a very strange way to show hospitality for a B&B that charges $350 a night. She told us breakfast is between 7:30 to 9:30am but never asked us when we would like to have it. That is very strange. Most B&B's we stayed at ask that question to ensure fresh breakfast be served at the right time.
She then went on to tell us there is wi-fi access, which is very nice. But then she started ranting about how she paid $1000 to fix the accessibility problem, that it cost her $1000 for guests like us to have internet. That was very unprofessional.

When we walked into the room. The first thing I saw on the kichenette counter is a paper that asks you to enter your credit card information in order to tip the maid. Way to welcome the guest... ( As it turns out, Tracy, the "maid", is the nicest employee here. Friendly and helpful, which is what B&B staff should be)

At night, when we took a shower, we noticed that there were only three bath towels in the bathroom. Even the motel we stayed at the night before was diligent enough to put enough towels in the bathroom at short notice. No one can be found in the house to provide us the extra towel.

Then, we noticed that there is a razor sitting next to the toiletries by the jacuzzi. I picked it up and it was used! That was so gross. After the shower, I noticed that this $350 B&B room is not equipped with bathrobes.

At breakfast, we found out why we were never asked about when we would like to have breakfast. Breakfast consists of sugary-water soaked strawberries and a main course: pancakes or bacon & eggs. I've stayed at many B&B in Quebec/Ontario area for less than $120 that serves at least 4 to 5 courses: Fresh fruits, organic yogurt with home-made granola, toasts, waffles...you name it. A two-course breakfast is not what I'd expect at a $386( after tax) a night B&B. The blueberry pancakes were so soaked in blueberry syrup that it was bitter and bland. Of course, we were so polite that we didn't say anything. In fact, my father in law even said how excellent his bacon and eggs were ( how hard is it for bacon and eggs to "taste" good?) It is unfortunate that when social norm trumps honesty, people have not been given the option or the nudge to help them improve upon their quality of service. It's a very good thing that hotels often have feedback sheets that helps the establishment to move away from mediocrity.

I've stayed at many B&B under $120 without having the mishaps mentioned about. Friendly people, wonderful hospitality, clean bathroom, bathrobe provided, gourmet home-made breakfast with great attention to details.

I hope no one has to pay almost $400 to experience what we had to at the Fitzroy Hall.

We enjoyed two nights at the Fitzroy Hall on Sat and Sun nights. Location and parking is great. We were on a 3rd floor room but luckily took a small bag. Kitchenette on second floor was convienent as was access to a computer and free internet. Breakfast in the beautiful dinning room was lovely with fresh fruit followed by a choice of cereals or two different cooked options.
Charlottetown is ridiculously over priced so $179 for a B and B is unfortunately what one has to pay but with a/c and a 30+ humidex our huge room was well worth it. Other guests were golfers, staying for the week to be central to the various courses on the Island.
Period decor and lovely flower gardens accent the beautiful house.
