“Wouldn't recommend staying here”
Reviewed 24 October 2006

My husband and I stayed here for three nights recently.
The Fairholm is overpriced. We stayed in the Haviland Suite. One of the bedside lamps had no lightbulbs in it, the remote for the TV wouldn't work, the seal around the shower door was loose, allowing water out onto the bathroom floor, the drawer on the nightstand broke when I opened it. There was not enough light in the room, could have used a floor lamp or two. The front door was hard to open so that host had to come open it for us twice. The front porch was not very well kept. Breakfasts were good. There was very little interaction with the hosts, only saw them at breakfast or if there was a problem.

I recently visited Prince Edward Island and stayed at the Fairholm Inn in Charlottetown. It is a spectacular Inn. The room are ellegent and comfortable. The building is a National Historic site and you can feel the history. I would not stay anywhere else in Charlottetown and fully recommend the Fairholm to anyone visiting the lovely Prince Edward Island. The service was excellent and the staff really make you feel like royalty.

I am from Charlottetown but now living in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. My
husband and I were planning a visit on the island to see relatives and
decided to make a special week end out of it. So we booked ourselved in
the Fairholm.
We were very pleased with the kindness and the service that was given to us during our stay. Our every need was met,-above our expectations. We have some dietary restrictions and the innkeepers respected that and made our meals accordingly. The special treatment we received was very much appreciated - they even woke early to make breakfast for my husband on one day he had a 7:30 am tee off time for golf!!
We will definitely be returning to the Fairholm.

We wanted to have an event at this place, and had it booked for a long time.Than new Inn Keepers came on and changed everything. Told us that since we lived in PEI, that we were NOT able to rent, that they didn't want any extra work.Yes, Tourists are very important, but the Residents of the area should also be able to use the place also. The person that wanted to have their event there is very, very upset, as it was there dream to stay at this special place.
