“Rundown, shabby, disappointing”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

Stayed here two nights in the main floor barn suite with two sisters. The hosts were very pleasant and they provided a delicious and generous breakfast. However the facility itself left much to be desired. The rag rugs on the tile floors were filthy and our white socks were black from wearing in the suite. The window air conditioner was unable to cool or remove the excessive humidity from the warm weather although it ran constantly. Rather than proper electrical outlets, we found several lamps plugged into numerous extension cords that weren't even polarized. We had wine the first night and the dirty glasses were placed back with the clean glassware without washing them. There was an outside second story deck, but the furniture was rotting and paint was peeling to the bare wood and there was trash/recycling stored below the steps, empty wine bottle on the steps and weeds growing up through the lower stair treads. This was the most expensive bed and breakfast we stayed in on our whole vacation and by far in the worst condition. Would not recommend staying here.

Neat renovated suites inside the barn. Everything was rustic but tastefully done. I would have liked locks on outside doors and also curtains/blinds to used in bathrooms. I was told by host, that living in the country, they are no worries and while that may be so, I worry about the other tourists, so I'd like locks on outside doors. The hosts provided a wonderful breakfast included freshly squeezed juice (banana, orange, strawberry), waffles with rhubarb on top and endless coffee/tea. If you are elderly, beware, our 2 bedroom suite had a gorgeous clawfoot tub, but it was difficult for my mother to get in and out. The only other complaint was that there were 4 women above us who were extremely loud until 3am and it moved chairs/furniture around, keeping us awake. Somehow better insulation or if possible, better manners of guests would help.

Room Tip: Choose a room upstairs to avoid noise and issue about locking outside doors.

I went there for three nights with a friend. We had the red room in the barn, upstairs. We were very comfortable with a full bed each and all in all, we had pleasant weekend.

Nice and charming B&B near Charlottetown. Old fashion country style, warm and cosy. Very pleasant hosts and housekeeper. Breakfasts are copious and good, but not refined.

There is a cosy common living room in the barn.

The room was about clean: I must say that other reviews mentioning spider nets and dust in the corners are true. But the bed, the counter, the fridge and the sanitaries were spotless. So it's good overall. And it's cheap.

Very convenient for travelers from/to Iles-de-la-Madeleine: The inn is located two blocks from the by-pass road we always use to avoid Charlottetown downtown. Easy to find. Quiet area. Nice surroundings.

I would go there again.
