Sirenella's was a wonderful choice. We were greeted very warmly by the owner who sat us at a cosy table. Our waiter was very helpful in explaining specials and helping us choose a light pasta. Service was very attentive. The wine choices were excellent! We loved that you could order a carafe of excellent wine. The pasta was homemade and delicious. We shared an appetizer of melon and prosciutto. Their prosciutto is as good, if not better, than what we ate in Italy.

We were told about this restaurant by some locals we had met the previous night at the theatre. It is apparently one of the few restaurants that stays open through the non-tourist winter season. Although we arrived late and the main restaurant appeared quite empty, we were warmly greeted and offered our choice of seats. The main restaurant was still very hot from the day and the patio is essentially the parking lot, so we opted for a table in the air conditioned room in the back. It essentially looked like a windowless room next to the kitchen, devoid of any semblance of character. It was, however, filled with several other tables full of locals enjoying their Friday night dinner. If they hadn't been speaking English, I would have thought we had been transported to a small village somewhere in Tuscany.
I digress; my wife and I each had perfectly prepared and presented veal dinners, paired with a nice bottle of wine, finishing with a very nice Tiramisu dessert. The service was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. Prices were reasonable; about what you'd pay in Vancouver or Toronto at any mid-range Italian restaurant. The atmosphere ended up being lively, warm and inviting, contrary to our initial impression.
We took our dessert and after dinner drinks outside (on the patio in the parking lot) so the staff could clean up the inside of the restaurant, only to find that others had the same idea. It was, surprisingly, quite pleasant. When we left, a party of six next to us was still going strong and ordering another couple of bottles of wine :-). Highly recommended.

While it is located on a "main" street, it sits back from the road, but don't miss out. Superb service at this northern Italian style restaurant that makes the most of the local seafood. The owner forages for foods - that morning he had found some fantastic mushrooms and other things that chef had incorporated into their signature seafood linguini. We had oysters - how can you miss out on the Malpeques - the linguini and a chocolate hazelnut gelato dessert. well worth the 5 minute walk from the Great George Hotel.

My son had recommeded this restaurant from his recent visits to the Island. In town for business three of us visited on a Tuesday night. Owner / Chef greeted us at the door. Our server was great, met all our needs but was not overbearing - he was quick to refill, clear, and had great product knowledge. The restaurant is small with a rustic feel, we found it comfortable and matched the food experience very well. Appies were good and the pasta appie was the best. We had a hot smoked salmon pasta, veal and chicken breast dish as mains - they were all delightful. My veal had a wonderfull sauce with boccochini and capers. My wife lovered her chicken breast dinner which also had a wonderful sauce, with cranberry garnish - she also loved the fresh veggies that had snap. Our fiend had the smoked salmon pasta in a light creamy rose sauce, it was unique and very tasty if you like smoked salmon.

It was a real treat.

If you find yourself in Charlottetown after travelling the Maritimes and eating lots of seafood this is THE place to go for authentic Italian pasta. We did indulge in mussels as a seafood starter. They were excellent as was the sauce which was a good soup after the mussels which were fresh fresh with no beachy taste at all. This Mussels plate ranked in my top two mussel dishes around the globe. They were obviously fresh and tender. The ravioli with spinach were excellent. Prosciutto was included. My wife had a pasta with veal which was yummy. We ended with a chocolate cheesecake which was smooooooth! The owner is Italian and I believe he makes his own pasta. There were white tablecloths and Italian decor. The restaurant is set back from the street so we missed it on a drive by but found if later. Prices are not over the top and are reasonable considering the quality. The waitress was top notch and knew the dishes very well. She also provided tourist info on PEI which we put to use. One of the best meals on our Maritimes trip
