Stayed at this hotel for a long weekend. The room was on the 5th floor overlooking the river. The room and bathroom were extremely clean with the temperature easily adjustable to meet all your needs. Breakfast is a buffet affair and more than adequate. all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little way from the nearest metro but there is always a taxi outside of the hotel to take you to the metro station

All in all a good experience and would stay there again

Room Tip: Ask for a room looking over the river

Stayed with a large group. Booking and check in hassle free. Clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Suite provided for group is very convenient. Had buffet dinner which was excellent as was breakfast ... Both were good value for the price ($16 for dinner and $10 for breakfast)

This hotel is very well located for people who want to visit Montreal: just five minutes from the Metro Station. Our room was comfortable and clean; nevertheless during the winter, the air conditioning unit is not tight closed so you can feel cold air entering in the room. It is not really disturbing for the heater is able to compensate. Service at the front desk is wonderful; we experienced the same to the bar and the restaurant. One thing is really bad: when we were sat in the lobby or in the bar, we got frozen because the central air conditioning system was probably not very well ajusted. After 30 minutes in the bar, I was ready for a hot shower!!! I heard other people complaining about that.

Thank you for posting a review of our hotel following your recent stay. The comments and opinions we receive are regularly shared with our management and staff in order for all to know what our guests think and how we can improve.

I am glad you found your room to be comfortable and clean as these are the cornerstones of a successful guest experience. We are looking at ways to improve our insulation around the air conditioning units presenty and hope to find a solution shortly. The intense cold in recent weeks, along with our open atrium has been a challenge for our heating systems. We have obtained the services of specialists in this area who have adjusted our systems to ensure our guests are comfortable.

Stayed a weekend with the kids. The hotel was as expected, Holiday Inn standard. It was clean and had plenty of parking, easy to get to. Staff was friendly and had no trouble speaking English. Breakfast was ok.

Two of the things you mentioned I truly enjoy hearing ; cleanliness and a friendly staff. We work hard to meet and exceed Holiday Inn standards, but having a helpful friendly staff makes all the difference, and can be the most challenging to teach.

Booking a Holiday Inn mostly means a great stay and an average standard. But not for this hotel: Our room smelled very (!) bad, the interiors looked a bit rundown, the A/C is way too loud and most of all breakast is NOT included! We expected something better - as the charge for one night is pretty expensive under these circumstances.

Dear Banocburn,

Thank you writing and posting a review. We enjoy obtaining your feedback and hearing about your concerns. We try to improve constantly, and sometimes comments can seem a little severe but we take them to be 'constructive'.

It would seem that we did not satisfy your needs during this past stay, and for that I apologise. There have been several improvements to note, including man ynew mattresses, new pillows, and general sprucing up including deep cleaning and painting.

Unfortunately, there seems to be some confusion regarding breakfast. This may stem from the fact that Holiday Inn Express hotels offer breakfast automatically, while Holiday Inn Hotels have the option of bed & breakfast rates, or guests can pay for breakfast seperately. We have a generous buffet breakfast with an chef manned omelet station and many other tasty options not found in 'breakfast included' hotels, or à la carte options.

I am sorry about not fulfilling your expectations, and hope you will consider contacting me and eventually returning to get a better opinion of our property.
