I'm very new to boutique hotels so my initial expression was shock as there was no reception or grand foyer . . But this charming Lil place grew on me, my room is the same as shown in the hotel pic . Exposed bricks stone n beams . .

The location is the best in old Montreal . . .

For restaurant , shopping n sights just speak to Michael . Hez a complete encyclopaedia of things to eat drink n shop in Montreal . .

The breakfast was lovely n their rooftop bar was nice . .

We spent a week at the Auberge last year and enjoyed it so much we returned this year for a further week. The staff are friendly, efficient and knowledgable about the area, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts and bar are exceptional and the lounge comfortable. It is situated in the old port with lots of interest nearby and many cafes and restaurants of all types. Our room was very comfortable and well equipt. The only minor issue was the noisy water system, probably due to air in the system. If we return to Montreal it will be to the Auberge. Thanks for a great stay.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the port have the best view and least external noise

Wow, Wow, Wow is all I kept saying about our stay here. From the friendly welcome to the fun goodbyes, this boutique hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were eager to help, personable and interested in their guests. Frederick, their bellhop, was especially great. The hotel public area is decorated (actually restored) with old world charm...exposed brick walls and beams and comfortable seating areas distributed throughout. You can sit at magnificent large open windows to take in the the park and port. We asked for a high floor and we given a room on the 4th floor overlooking the port. We spent most of our time at the large open windows just enjoying the view. The rooms are also charming with exposed brick and beams but have all the modern comforts you could want. The shower had multiple jets and a rainfall showerhead! The bed was topped with a featherbed! The Gasper Tavern hosted the included breakfast with an open menu. Loved the rustic decor. The Tavern also has an outdoor seating area in which we enjoyed some fabulous wine and cheese board overlooking the park and watching the horse drawn carriages drive by on the cobblestone street. The hotel also has a rooftop terrace bar. Though only open on the weekends in Sept., Frederick took us up to see the panoramic view from there. White leather sofas and modern hi-top seating had me wishing I could spend more time there.

With entrances on the front and back of the hotel, you either exited port-side across from a park or street-side to charming art galleries, shops and restaurants. We walked to everything, including the Metro which we took to other parts of the city.

Yes, this hotel had me at "Bonjour."

When first arriving, we had our doubts -- from the street it looks a little shabby. But the rooms were very comfort and clean with very modern bathrooms. Great breakfast in bar/restaurant included. Bar very lively in evenings with good raw bar.
The staff was young and cheerful, very helpful with restaurants, etc. Great location for restaurants and walks.

Room Tip: Many rooms are accessed by 1/2 flight of stairs, so if that's a problem, you should say so when...

I note other comments relating to the noise on the upper floors. We experienced the same loud humming and droning noise that continued all day but mercifully stopped between one and five am. Not much consolation really. The hotel said "they were aware of the issue but thought it had been fixed!" Obviously just a standard response along with the discounted but overpriced car parking! Its a nice hotel in a good location. The breakfasts are very good and the staff helpful. My rating would have been higher if the noise issue had been resolved.

Room Tip: Dont go above the third floor.

Dear Guest,
Thank you your comment and thank your taking the time to share you experience you had at the Auberge du Vieux Port.
I reassure you that the parking price of the Auberge is based on the area average prices.
You not only have your car parked in an underground private parking, you also get Valet service for only 28$.
About the noise, it is something we are working on to fix and giving you a credit was the least we can do to apologize for the inconvenience.
We do hope to have you come stay with us again and reassure you that by than the noise will be fixed.

This small hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Old Town Montreal and the rest of the city is easily accessible on foot or by Metro. The building is a former wharehouse and the rooms feature stone walls and steel beams. Though not huge, the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed and the bathrooms are state of the art, including jets in the shower.

The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, from the bellman to the concierge. We were always greeted with a smile and the staff recommendations were consistently excellent.

We will defintely stay here again on our next trip to Montreal.

Room Tip: Use the stairs whenever possible as it can be a long wait for the one elevator.

We stayed two nights in a charming room on the fifth floor that afforded a wonderful view of the river and parkway. The location was perfect for exploring the old parts of Montreal. The breakfasts, in the hotels pub/restaurant, were so good that we decided to eat one of our dinners there too. We were not disappointed. The staff were extraordinary. We were greeted by Frederik who took care of our baggage then parked the car. Sylvie, the front desk person, helped us with numerous travel issues - small and large. We were still remarking on her kindness days after we had left Montreal. I would certainly go back there again.
