“Terrific hotel”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

The location is fantastic in the heart of Old Montreal. The hotel is small with about 30 rooms,a very small lobby and a restaurant. The room was large, well done, high ceilings, wood floors, huge windows, and a nice bath. The breakfast that comes with room is really nice, plenty of options from crepes to eggs, and is very good. The staff is very helpful. For those with cars parking is very easy and close to hotel, with a discounted rate.
Great choice,would stay again.

Beautiful hotel, very centrally located and you can walk to everything! Staff were so welcoming and really helpful, the Concierge and Manager went out of their way to help us book tours and explaining the best places to go (although I'm pretty sure they found our map reading skills hilarious!) The stylish and comfortable room was spotlessly clean and the free standing bath a real treat. The included breakfast at the attached restaurant was easy and the staff friendly and efficient, the food was fresh and delicious (I rarely eat brekkie but I went down every day!) I'm pretty fussy and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I was travelling with my brother on vacation. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the night person at the front desk with a huge smile and wecloming arms. We stayed there three nights and all front desk personnel were equally welcoming and focused on us having a wonderful time. They could not have been more helpful and sincere in ensuring that we had a great experience.

The hotel rooms were very charming and comfortable. Both rooms had hardwood floors and were comfortably spacious, but intimately charming. Very nice for an individual person or a romantic couple. Our rooms included a continental breakfast. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, but it seemed to be very popular for dinner. The dining service seemed slow, but as we traveled throughout Canada, we realized that was a cultural difference and not specific to any one restaurant. Our conclusion was that the wait staff left us alone so as not be be a bother, rather than out of indifference. We are from the U.S. and found our lack of French to be a non-issue at the hotel and throughout Montreal.

The hotel is about a half hour drive from the airport, but conveniently located in Old Montreal a short walk from the Notre-Dame Bascilica and Rue St. Paul. Rue St. Paul runs East and West and is the oldest street in Montreal, with many shops and restaurants (our concierge recommended selecting restaurants on the West end of Old Montreal). Rue St. Paul is very active at night and fun to stroll through. The hotel is on a quiet street (despite its urban location) that intersects with Rue St. Paul.

The hotel utilizes a public parking lot a short distance from the hotel, if you have a car. It worked well for us. It's not a covered lot and there is no valet, if that is important to you. I highly recommend walking Old Montreal to see all of its charm. We also found the subway system to be very effective.

Room Tip: Although the hotel is located on an urban street, the street is not very busy at night. Thus, I'...

Highly recommend this hotel. Better than all major high end hotels. Staff was so friendly and accomadating since we arrived early morning. Lovely, elegant and quaint hotel. Breakfast was included in the price and it was delicious.

The Auberge Bonaparte was first class all the way. The 1800's stone exterior doesn't quite prepare you for what's inside. The professionalism of Anne-Marie in booking and making arrangements for our group of 15 friends with bicycles was a pleasure. When unloading 8 vehicles arriving at once in a 15 minute unloading zone, the concierge Luc took control and turned potential chaos into calm. Our bicycles were never before kept in a room with marble floors and wood paneling! Accommodations were perfect and a great location in old town.
Luc also recommended we dine at the restaurant in the hotel, showed us the private dining room which could accommodate our group, and after looking at the menu we were hooked. Dinner was superb, with the restaurant staff on top of it all . Professional but not stuffy. Jonathan the bartender got us going, Pierre did an excellent service and maitre d' Georges closed out a wonderful evening. A three course sit down breakfast is included the next morning. Try the crepes, This is an operation with a relaxed but professional personal service across the board. An excellent find.

We stayed in the suite on the 5th floor with our two sons. It had a charming balcony that overlooked Notre dame and the furnishings were simple yet elegant. Separate bedroom for us and pullout couch for the kids. Great location and sincere staff. Highly recommend. A romantic hotel.

Stayed in this hotel for one night.Breakfast is included- and is quite good- crepes, croissants, omelettes. The room features hardwood floors a soaking bathtub with sinks both inside and outside the bathroom. The hotel is clean and quiet.

I traveled with teenagers. We had a Queen and Full bed with plenty of room. We also had an amazing view of Notre Dame Basilica through our window. The hotel is also pet friendly. The staff was helpful and provided us with walking directions for a location downtown. We were able to have them keep our bags after check out as we took in a couple of tourist sites before leaving town.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of Notre Dame
