This place is BUSY and that in itself is interesting. It is loaded with food places, artsy things, people who dance or give free shows all along cobblestone pathways. It also feels safe so that children, the elderly and those in between can all intermingle and have a good time...so unlike Val David in the Laurentian Mts. which seemed a utopia for the octogenarian, or the " bicycle friendly" slogan they try to pass for the city of Montreal...yes while they do have bikes, you'd be a nutcase, or someone desiring to collect on a life insurance policy if you are from the USA and unaccustomed to how they drive around here. I almost witnessed 5 accidents in one day and the ambulances were quite prevalent. And Old Montreal is by the water so it's actually quite neat. But you do have to pay for parking out here so look around first, then choose wisely.
