“The scope of the dome is breathtaking”

I like temples, churches, synagogues, you name it. St. Joseph's Oratory did not disappoint. The view from inside the dome is breathtaking. The service we got to see was also very enlightening.

“Worth a visit for an hour or two”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

the immense size and view are worth the trip, we walked over from the city, it was tiring but worthwhile and ate at a restaurant nearby. I personally did not appreciate the modern artwork compared to St. Peter's basilica for example, it seems less skill is required but the garden is lovely in the summer.

“What a let down”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Maybe it was bc we visited this after Notre Dame but this church was disappointing. Took the hop on hop off to it & visit there was only 35 min. A tip that I did not see before going was that there is an escalator on the last leg of the stairs to the top. We went inside the gift shop building for the bathrooms and saw the escalators for the museum but once there they have another set to the Basilica which was nice on the hot day we visited. Church is pretty from the outside and worth viewing on the tour but sadly not stopping.

I went there with my daughter and a buddy, lots of steps to climb. A must see, great view and important history about the Catholic religion in Montreal

“Elegant and beautiful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

This was my 2nd second visit to the St Joseph's Oratory. In Canada, you cannot easily visit such amazing place within a big city like Montreal. This should be one of the 'cannot-miss' attractions of Montreal, whether you are religious or not. I am not religious but I can fully appreciate the spirit and tranquilly of this place. You will enjoy the history and the architecture of St Joseph's Oratory.
