“Great stores and great lunches too”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2013

What a great area to walk around, stop for a coffee or do some shopping. Sure, you can get a coffee at Second Cup or Starbucks, but if you want a REALLY great coffee, stop in to Cavallero for the best cup you'll ever have and don't forget to buy a bottle of olive oil from their huge selection. If you go in the summer, there's nothing more enjoyable than sitting outside on the many terraces on the street with a great coffee and a panini. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Zone is the best giftware store on the strip - a bit overpriced, but very nice merchandise. Soba Suchi used to be the only sushi place in the area, but in the past few months, a few more have opened, but that's ok, because Soba is still the best one in the area and the line ups are proof of that. Clothing shops are more in the designer price ranges, but lately there have been some new stores moving in that will most probably do very well there. The SAQ liquor store has a fantastic selection of wines, so you may want to check this location out for that special bottle you've been looking for. Their staff is very helpful and quite knowledgeable too. On a nice summer evening, any of the ice cream shops will satisfy any craving. Just look for the crowds huddling around on the sidewalk and you'll be able to find them in a second.

“Sherbrooke Street Architecture”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2013

Interesting architecture, in particular, from the end of the 19th century. A 30-minute walk from McGill College Street to Victoria Avenue in Westmount is pleasant any time of year. Highlights: McGill University, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, College de Montreal, Dawson College, Westmount Park.

“Google is lying to you! It is NOT a highway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 January 2013

For some reason anytime you want to go anywhere in the city that takes you across the island, Google Maps insists on directing you through Sherbrooke. Sherbrooke is a mess of unsynchronized lights and traffic. Don't do it!
