“Nice views and oasis from Montreal”
Reviewed 31 August 2014 via mobile

Easy drive (harder walk) from anywhere in Montreal. Great vistas of the city with plentiful parking at various points through the park. A nice filler activity, but not a must do.

“Marvelous in many ways!”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

Being a new resident of Montreal, I'm easily able to enjoy this beautiful park on a daily basis. The main pathway and random cut-through paths that head up the mountain are well maintained and a joy to wonder. You can take the long and winding road, or cut off via different stairs or paths from assorted roadways at the base of the mountain. One way or another you'll get to the top and see not only the magnificent view of Montreal to the south but also the chalet that provides a grandiose backdrop to the beautifully maintained square. A few short steps away is Maison Smith, which is a heritage building that houses washrooms and a cafe. The story of the house is fascinating and is on display in the basement. Make sure you take the loop to the cross, which seems to be close to the highest point on the mountain. You'll be amazed you were there when you see it lit up at night from the streets below. There are many photo ops along the way as well as places to relax and enjoy the peacefulness the mountain has to offer.

“Hike up Mont Royal”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

It was a long walk up to the top of Mont Royal, but it is a pretty hike along a wooded path. If you are in pretty good shape it is a nice thing to do.

“Family Attraction”
Reviewed 29 August 2014

This was a great setting with families taking advantage of picnics. The hikes were of an easy nature plus bikes were available for hire. Well worth going for a few hours of relaxation. Cafe on site with good selection of food and drinks.
