“Beautiful rooms and superior service”
Reviewed 24 March 2014

We booked this room through a travel site, I tried to book directly but they could not match the price. Check in was warm and welcoming, the valet/concierge was also very helpful and friendly.

Our room was on the 15th floor, and it was absolutely beautiful! The bathtub...Ahhh! Luxurious lines, super comfortable bed and we did not hear either neighbours or the downtown traffic. The location was one block from St Catherines (shopping, food, fun) and right across the street from the Peel Metro Station. Outdoor heated pool was small, but nice, although the hours were a little restrictive, but we made it work.

I stayed here with my 16 year old daughter for a special Mom/daughter trip and it suited us just fine. I would return with my S/O in a heartbeat!

Luxurious doesn't even begin to describe this boutique hotel. Beautifully designed, fantastic location and attention to detail - imagine free bottled water- I see you smiling! ( me too). After a long day of travelling what a welcome sight. The room was spacious, clean, quiet and the had the most amazing complimentary Asian apples- yum! My new favourite in Montreal

Spent a weekend at the St-Martin and had a nice time. Check-in was smooth and efficient and room was large and beautiful. Bathroom had a huge soaking tub with flat screen tv and a private shower. We had booked a room with a fireplace which turned out to be somewhat of a gimmick electrical unit... That said, room was very nice. We only ate breakfast at the hotel's bistro and that was so so. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel.

My husband booked this hotel knowing I like small boutique hotels with good service. The price was also quite enticing for the weekend, so he booked.

We were not disappointed. We had a lovely room, arrived rather late at night and were taken care of immediately. Although the hotel restaurant was closed (11pm) it was very close to numerous bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. on rue Ste. Catherine. Breakfast in the restaurant was very well done. Staff was very helpful in storing our luggage, getting us taxis, assisting with a faulty key look on the door, etc.

The room was well furnished, clean, and with amenities appropriate for this type of establishment.

We would not hesitate to return to this hotel anytime.

Just back from three nights at this hotel. It was our first time and we had a very enjoyable stay.

Good value for the price. Our room on a high floor was comfortable, appeared to be clean, was in good working order, was relatively quiet, etc. etc. We liked the complimentary in-room Kuerig single serving coffee with fresh milk and creamers and bottles of water (one day they were not refilled, but the front desk was able to provide no problem). Bed and pillows were comfortable although not the best hotel bed I've slept on. We had a King-bed room which had a single sink and a glass shower; our friend had the two-bed room which was slightly wider and had a double sink,a tub/shower combo and a microwave. The shower is visible from the sleeping area but there are louvered shuttered sliding doors that can be used for privacy, so that was not an issue. We actually liked that you could open the shutters and/or slide the door to the side, which allowed light from the window in to help brighten the bathroom. The free Wifi worked very well.

The Globe and Mail and La Presse are available in the lobby. There was also an automated coffee machine which offered complementary lattes, espresso, etc. Decent coffee, and surprisingly hot for that kind of machine.

All staff we encountered, particularly in the lobby, were very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping staff mostly speak French, not English. Lobby staff were fully bilingual.

Couple of minor issues. Your hotel key card also operates the elevator, and will only take you to your floor and the pool floor. Great for security but given that our friend was staying on a different floor, it made it very difficult to go between rooms unless we gave each other keys to the other's room. We also didn't realize at first that we had blackout curtains - they were hidden behind that side panels and sheers and we totally didn't see them. That was mostly our own duh moment. The lighting in the bathroom could have been brighter for make up application.

We didn't use the heated outdoor pool but it was cute and would be nice for a dip. It's not really big enough for laps.

Location was great. It's very central. Close to the shopping on Ste. Catherine but not far from Old Montreal, Mont-Royal, and other areas you may want to see.

Would definitely stay again.

My wife and I love to go to Montreal for a night or two every other month. We try different places and always try to find properties close to shopping, dining and attractions.

We found the St-Martin when it was on one of those daily deal sites. We were skeptical as it seemed to be very reasonably priced - but it was great.

The hotel is not overly fancy... but it is really cute and quaint. There is valet service so you simply walk right in and they take care of the parking and bring your things up to the room. We usually have an overnight bag - so we don't need the latter, but still a nice option should you need it.

The rooms are modern, clean and ample. We chose a room with windows on two sides... thinking it was going to be awesome. Only thing is, you're surrounded by offices/buildings... so unless you want to put on a show for your neighbours, you will likely be like us and have the blinds closed most of the time ;-)

You're a short walk from everything. And shorter if you take a cab, of course. Only a few blocks and you're shopping, eating and people-watching like it was an olympic sport.

Overall, the experience was above average, especially since we got such a great deal on the two nights. What's nice is you don't get treated any less special with the the daily deal.... which happens more often than it should. St-Martin is worth a try... and we'll be back again this spring.

If you go, enjoy!

Wonderful weekend in the heart of montreal!! Hotel is amazing, beautiful, best hotel I've stayed in so far, room was great, breakfast was delicious.

The Grand Lux room was better than expected, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was HUGE!! It could fit 4 people!

Only thing annoying was the hallway noise, everytime someone would open their room door you can hear it and the talking in the hallway, but We will go back!

Got a great deal on the hotel website, so dont bother booking when its expensive, they seem to always have deals often. Glad we didnt take the almost 50$ per day Valet Parking, the is a parking lot next to the hotel rates are soo much better or on the streets its free after 9pm on weekdays and 6pm weekends. The breakfast was well priced, and very tasty. The movie rentals were a bit expensive and ony gave you 6hrs to watch it. The tv channel selection sucks, so find something better to do.

Its one street away from St-Catherine so you dont get too must traffic noise. But you can walk to almost everything.

We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay with us! We will pass on all your great comments to the staff here.

Just a small correction, our valet parking is 29$/night with unlimited in and out privileges. I`m not sure why your were given a rate of 50$ / day, my apologies for this.

Thank you again for sharing your comments and we hope to see you again in the future.
