We were extremely impressed with Shezelles B&B. They hostesses were lovely and welcoming. The facilities were impeccably maintained. I have never stayed at a cleaner, better kept location in Montreal. Breakfast was freshly baked each morning along with other healthy selections. We were a block away from the metro and free parking for our car was simple to find. We would absolutely stay here again.

My wife and I experienced a wonderful time during the Gran Prix weekend. An ideal location with the friendliest of Hostesses. Breakfast was delicious and the bed was very comfortable. A beautiful backyard and quiet surroundings.

We will be returning next year!

Our first visit to Montreal couldn't have been nicer. Shezelles was the perfect choice, comfortable accommodations, lovely French breakfasts with fresh fruit, croissants, yogurt, cereals, choice of beverages. Lucy, the owner, has been operating this BnB for over 20 years and was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and sharing stories about Montreal. It is fun to sit around the breakfast table with visitors from France, Germany, and U.S.

The subway was a few minute walk right up the street and very easy to navigate for non French speakers. City bike rentals and paths are on the corner.

Room Tip: We chose the first floor room with private bath, jacuzzi, and refrig, and microwave, which we didn...

Top BnB for LOCATION, welcome, comfort, and warmth. We stayed 4 nights and we were absolutely delighted. This is a real jewel of a place. We would definitely come here again. The rooms are decorated in a relaxed bohemian style which matches completely with the cheerful hospitality of the hostesses Lucie and Lyne who are bi-lingual so French and English speakers are equally welcome. In fact they go out their way to spend time with guests, help with tourist information and provide excellent restaurant recommendations. They have been in this business for 25 years and never seem to tire of providing a real cultural exchange with people. The breakfast is different every day; delicious, beautifully presented with fresh and wholesome ingredients. There is also a great deal of thought put into every detail such as the quality of linens, towels, fresh potted flowers, and exotic decorations done with a personal flair. The hostesses also encourage all their guests to meet and chat. You will not find more vivacious personalities than these hostesses. The wifi works well. You will not be cut off from the world. Highly recommended.

Travelling from Europe to Canada I chose to stay at this b&b for ten days. It is very well located, as it is just two blocks away from the metro station and has a big variety of restaurants, boutiques and various other shops in close vicinity. The hostesses Lucie and Lyne are very caring, kind and authentic.
What I probably enjoyed most at their place was the breakfasts. They served a very delicious breakfast everyday with fresh fruits, yoghurt, bagels, croissants, cereal and of course maple syrup! And then there were all the other guests which seemed to love travelling around the world and talk about their experiences too. That mixture turned our breakfast into a very pleasant start into the day.
A few words about the place itself: It instantly gave me a comfy feel, because it has a very nice, artistic touch with lots of colors, small statues, paintings, etc. It's not over-done, but just right. Well, the rooms are not very big, but big enough for people to move around without bumping into things. Only the bathroom felt a bit small for taller/bigger people.

Summing my experiences up I can only recommend this place to anyone who wants to get to know people and their way of life. On my next trip to Montreal I'll definitely stay at this place again!

We have stayed at many b&b's in Montreal, and Shezelles is not the worst, but not the best. On the plus side, the location is a 10 (especially if you are bicycling). The hostess Lyne is a great person - very helpful, friendly and considerate. The whole place is spotless and very quiet. There is a nice upstairs patio, and a small, private back yard. The breakfast was simple, but of high quality - fresh fruits, yogurt, bagels, cereal.
On the minus side - the rooms are very small, and ours was right off the kitchen. We were there in typical summer weather, and the room was somewhat stuffy and warm. You are asked to remove your shoes at the door, and walk around in stocking feet.
From what I've heard, the downstairs suite is very nice, but pricey for a b&b.

This BnB is on a nice, primaily residential street in the Plateau area. It was very clean with a beautiful, artistic decor and atmosphere. Nice sunny dining/common area and small outdoor porch off this. A superb breakfast (organic, high quality) was prepared by the engaging, knowleable, helpful & multi-language host. 3 of us in 2 rooms found them a bit small, but storage was good & for our 4 night stay they were fine. The bath & the toilet were small. In a 3 minute walk one can find an abundance of excellant restaurants/cafes-varying in price and type of food. Many shops are also nearby. Metro and bus are a block away. We felt very safe here.
We would deffinately stay here again.

Room Tip: One street level unit. Others require a stair climb.
