“historical treat appreciated”
Reviewed 20 October 2013

originally from montreal, I grew up in awe of this old building... a two night stay years later have me further in AWE!! .. a great stay, wonderful staff all with a smile, a bedroom with REAL old white tiles in the bathroom portion, lots of space, and great choice in the comfy breakfast knook... the only negative was the noisy outside traffic as we were in a front-room, but got used to the noise by night two... a real treat... very well positioned in montreal to do everything on foot, and an AWESOME SPOT!!! bravo to all of the staff!!

Room Tip: try to get a room at rear of building...

A bit out of central downtown (a 10 minute walk) this hotel is very nicely furnished and comfortable. Breakfasts are of the usual buffet eat what you like type while the staff are competent and helpful. All said a pleasant hotel.

The Chateau Versailles was an excellent choice for us on our first time to Montreal. The staff was
very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the second floor and had a fireplace and king size bed which was very comfortable. Bathroom was also very nice. Breakfast was included and
we enjoyed that buffet too. The hotel is not near Old Montreal but it is near a metro station and also a bus runs by the hotel. A taxi cab to Old Montreal cost $15.00.
We would not hesitate to choose this hotel again. Only problem- If you are elderly or with
problems climbing stairs or going down them, the front steps of the hotel are somewhat daunting.

First time at this hotel and we will most definitely return. Warm and welcoming staff, eager to please. Elegant hotel, comfortable bed, spacious and magnificent room with a fireplace, jacuzzi tub and lovely view of Sherbrooke St. Elegant breakfast room. Breakfast features the best coffee, and simple but very adequate breakfast. Although the chocolate croissants are a must have! Valet parking is an added luxury. There is nothing like charm and warmth of a boutique hotel, and the Chateau Versailles does not disappoint!

Hotel receptionists & bell boys very welcoming & helpful. Lovely old historical building with good sized bedroom & comfortable bed, bathroom with bath & shower. Buffet breakfast is served in the charming dining room. Plenty of food & choice. Well located downtown for all amenities, shops, restaurants, attractions & Mont Royal. Close to McGill University, many museums & Churches. Valet parking. Free Wifi is a bonus. There are some steep steps from the street - but worth the climb!

Room Tip: There is no lift so ask for a ground or first floor room.

great location and nice rooms. we stayed here for osheaga and had a very easy time getting to and from parc jean-drapeau for the festival. our room was in the basement and while very large, it was very very damp. so much so that the carpet felt wet and you could feel it in the linens. As it is a converted walk up it's very homey and the staff is friendly. loading and unloading is a bit difficult as it's off sherbrooke and on a hill but they have valet and away the car goes. cute place and great location - would definitely consider staying here again - but on a higher floor.

Room Tip: avoid the basement rooms - they're very damp

We thank you for taking the time to write this review. We hope you enjoyed your time at Osheaga, along with your time with us. We apologize for the dampness in your room. Due to humidity in the summer this may occur, we do have humidifiers that can be placed in the room easily. Upon your next day with us, please advice us and we will be more than happy to place you a on higher floor. We apologize once again, but hope that you will return to stay with us in the near future.

My wife and I stayed here in August for 3 nights. Staff was always pleasant and helpful when asked. The bed was quite comfortable and the room was a good size. Only downside is if you need an elevator you're out of luck. Breakfast was good but if you are looking for a large scale meal then you will have to go elsewhere. Parking of the car is down the street but no big deal.
We walked everywhere while in the city which was very pleasant. Lots to see and do while in Montreal. We will definitely be back.
