Some of the reviews here appear to be scary. This is a great hotel with a superb location. And a great value. The hotel fronts Set Catherine St and plenty of eateries, bistros and bars. Not a "sketchy" neighborhood at all but yeah there are street people and a colorful mix. It is a big city. A block away is the Metro Berri/UQAM station where all the lines converge. Parking is a bit pricey, $19.50c a day. The hotel lobby is elegant. The rooms are clean and com my and we had a great view. Free wifi and the signal was lightning fast. Yeah the TV set is old technology they need new flat screens and better electronics. We paid $70/night total on Hotwire and they treated us like royalty. I'll come back here again for sure.

The hotel is a little dated and the complimentary breakfast is basic but for $16 more you can add a buffet breakfast. McDonalds across the street would be less expensive. The room was clean and tidy but our main complaint was the slowness of the internet connection. Dial up would have been faster!

Room smelled of smoke, could definitely use an update, very plain bare-bones decor, various stains on carpet and furniture, chip out of sink that they attempted to repair but didn't do a good job, tub liner that doesn't quite fit, old-school Zenith TV... no huge issues but also nothing remarkable. Not sure that this qualifies as 3-star. Park across the street generally features many homeless people, and is possibly known as a pickup park. For somewhere to sleep it's fine.

Booked through Hotwire. Is not what you'd expect from a 3-star hotel in the U.S. Rooms are old but clean. Location is good and close to the metro to go anywhere you want, as well as to the airport bus.

I left a jacket hanging in the closet and though I didn't realize it for a week or more, no one from the hotel ever attempted to contact me about it. I didn't ask for it back because I figured the price to ship it back would be more than the value.

We booked our room thru Hotwire and saved about 45% each night otherwise we would have been greatly disappointed as the full price of the room did not compare to the value. The problem is that we have now come to expect certain amenities for a $140 room and these rooms just don't deliver. We now expect the down duvet, the fluffy pillows, the bar fridge, the glassware, and the room safe which many years ago were only in high end hotels but have now become standard in most hotels. Sadly, this hotel remains outdated as the other reviews indicate, however, if these upgrades were made I suspect their reviews would improve greatly. Having said that, our stay was fine although we feel that we lucked out and we would not book there again. Staff were very friendly and when we checked in, Leno was extremely pleasant and when we asked if we could be upgraded (as we were extremely worried about the room given the poor reviews we read) he upgraded us from the classic to the superior. And we loved the electric shoe shine in the room! So if you can book a room at a great price then it's an okay hotel, otherwise I would book another hotel as the negatives outnumber the positives.

Room Tip: When checking in be sure to inquire if you can be upgraded to superior or ideally business

Stayed twice in March. Both times were without incidence. Room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is over the top with delicious food and fresh fruit which kept me full til I got back to Texas. As for location you can access the metro or bus station ( for airport bus ) without going outside in inclement weather. There is also a full sized super market downstairs if you want some fresh fruits or baked goods to munch on. The pool is also nice. I already made my reservations for two visits in July.

This hotel was okay. The staff were helpful, but the hotel wasn't very nice. The rooms were small and the bathroom wasn't very nice. On the other hand, it was pretty good for the price. It did have a pretty good location!
