We stayed at this hotel for two nites last week while on vacation first time to montreal the hotel was easily found off highway blocks from catherine and sherbrooke streets.
We arrived early before check in but were allowed to park car and check in later the desk people were great help from the start with maps and things to see and do.
The rooms were quite sufficient for what we needed big in size and comfortable and the ac worked very well so well we had to turn it down.
The only negitives i can say were that the first morn for breakfast was suppose to be served at 6:30 but didnt get bacon or eggs etc on buffet till 7ish which was no big deal.
The food wasnt great the scrambled eggs were a lil runny but cereales etc were fine .There was enough food to satisfy you.
The pool was deceiving from what i seen on website it was small i wouldnt want more then 10 ppl in a t once but no one was in when we were so it worked out fine it was big enough to cool of and small enough u couldnt drowned.
Also while there we did the pedicure at the spa the cost was 35 bucks at she did a very good job.
All in all it was a great stay and if ever in montreal again we will chose the le nouvel hotel.
And a BIG thanks to adam( i think his name was) for all his extra pointers on subway places to eat etc very pleasant young guy who was genuinley only to glad to help.

Sounds decent on the internet until you get there. Your pushing it if you call this a 3 star. Our AC buzzed constantly, and the blanket on my bed had a chunk missing out of it. The location is not good bc you have to walk up a long street that has a park where drunks hang out. The pool is big enough to hold 6-7 people. No bellman.
We stayed one night and transferred to Loews Vogue Hotel which was terrific.

Great hotel, great price! We were thoroughly impressed by the size of the room we received. Big comfy king bed, fridge/microwave, sitting area and large bathroom. Everything was clean and well maintained. If you want to stay in the heart of downtown Montreal on a budget, go here!

A decent value for price and location. Montreal hotels are more expensive than most cities, but the Le Nouvel is an acceptable value - it isn't located in any desirable part of town, but the bus stops across the street, the Metro is a five minute walk, and St. Catherine and Crescent streets (the best areas of Montreal not listed in the travel books) are only a block away. After exploring all the neighborhoods, we found St. Catherine St. to be our favorite, so the location of the hotel worked out well. The hotel lobby is very nice and the hotel staff was very professional and friendly. The biggest negative was the free wireless Internet - which works fine in the lobby, but on the fourth floor, was worse than dial-up. The staff tried nobly to help by giving me a wireless access point to use, but it didn't help wifi speeds - this is something that definitely needs to be addressed by the hotel, and can be easily (and cheaply) fixed by installing wireless access points on each floor.

I arrived in Montreal feeling a little off-color following the train trip from Toronto. By the time my taxi arrived at the hotel, I must have been looking rather green about the gills, because a man coming down the hotel steps immediately took charge of me and my luggage, presented me to the desk clerk and asked that someone help me to my room. That evening and all the next day, I suffered from some sort of 24-hour flu. I existed on room service and only ventured out once, to find a pharmacy. I'm sure someone would have gone there for me, because the staff was so helpful, but I enjoyed my leisurely walk around the block, and found it to be an interesting, comfortable neighborhood. When I went to the hotel's restaurant in person, I found the staff there to be just as friendly and helpful. I had been brushing up on my French, but as soon as I said, "Je ne parle pas beaucoup de Francais" everyone said, "That's okay, I speak English."
