I spent three nights here last month. The hotel is located in the city center, about 10-12 mins walk from Old Montreal. From Trudeau airport, you can take the 747 bus to the 7th stop and walk 1 block north. This took me about 35 mins (no traffic) but I imagine at peak times probably takes well over an hour. The hotel is attached to a shopping mall (bonus!) and is right in the middle of the city.
The entrance to the hotel is very awkward, as only a small sign is present. (This may be due to construction but I am not sure.). You have to take two sets of elevators up to the lobby. While this is no big deal, they can be slow and crowded at peak times. Sometimes I wished a stairwell was nearby so I could avoid the wait.
My room itself was ok. Clean and comfortable, but not much more. Nothing great but not like some people who mention peeling paint etc. I would say average room. My one issue was the my in room wifi signal was terrible. Since I was part of a large group this was free of charge, but had I been paying for it, that would have been unacceptable.
I didn't dine at the hotel or go to the hotel bar so I cannot comment on those features. The staff were nice and professional.
Pros: great downtown location for festivals, St. Catherine street, McGill, Mount Royale, with nearby Old montreal only a short walk away. Right off the 747 bus is also a plus. Cons: Average rooms (probably not worth the price), poor wifi, poor navigability to the lobby from the street.
Overall an ok place. I'm sure next time I go there, I will likely stay in Old Montreal. For business, its a pretty standard place I guess.
