This is my second stay in a Hyatt hotel and I would say they are getting better.

The entrance to the hotel is kind of odd and confusing for a new traveler to the area. The reception is on the second floor by elevator.

Room is ok. Not high end as you would expect but I they were renovating when we were there so it should improve. But the rooms are clean and bed is comfortable.

The area is centralized and perfect for shopping, and walking around downtown Montreal as well as festivals.

We were in town in July for a conference and ended up loving this hotel for its perfect location. We could walk to the conference center underground so that the days that it rained we were perfectly dry and not lugging around rain gear. But was even better was that we were right a the main stage area for a music festival. We never had to venture more than a few blocks for either entertainment or food.

This hotel is located right on the corner facing the main stage of the Montreal Jazz Fest. In 2014 the adjacent stage was along the street between the hotel and the modern art museum, so it was great venue for mobilizing between artists and taking breaks in the room or lobby (free orange slice water, woo).

The lobby is located on the 2nd floor and there's a guest-only deck with great views of the main areas of the festival. Within walking distance 5-10 minutes is the Métropolis - think Wiltern or Fillmore - which hosted Bonobo this year. Amazing.

Otherwise the rooms are unremarkable and maybe slightly sub-par for a Hyatt. The service was good but not great, particularly when it came to checking in early (we ultimately waited until 5pm despite arriving at 10am). Still, if you're here for the jazz fest, a good go-to.

this hotel is slowly but surely improving in appearance.
they have a nice updated lobby and lounge area . they have changed the carpets in the hallways. it looks much fresher . the rooms still need some improvement though. still have shabby looking chairs an cushions etc... and the bathrooms need some paint and fresh grout.
I have found that the customer service here has always been very good. the location is perfect . right in the middle of everything

Room Tip: the rooms facing St. Catharine are good for watching the action on the street but can be quite noisy...

It's location is awkward in that it is buried in another building. If walking it is more of a pain that it should be to get in.

Once out of the building, the location is good though for shopping and eating options.

The fitness area is decent.

Inside it is nice but the service was awful in the lounge area for drinks / food.

For the price there must be better choices. And, after absolutely loving the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA, this was a massive disappointment.

Stayed during Ocheaga festival although I wasn't attending. Long line for check in but Audrey on reception very apologetic. Room was great. Didn't hear any noise which other people have commented on. Pool and surrounding area are a great bonus during the summer months. Didn't have breakfast or sample the restaurant. At check out Claude was also very helpful. Ideal location for exploring.

I stayed in this hotel in September 2013. Nice location, close to several shopping centre, parks and the convention centre. Large clean rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was not included and rather expensive. Altogether a nice hotel for business purposes.
