In the summer, the Main Street is covered by a pink parade of color. It is impossible to miss it. Find a restaurant on the street sitting outside and enjoy a meal and people watching. Once of the best people watching place in North America. Probably THE best Gay street in the world (have been to many gay neighborhoods around the world). Worth the trip and spending time.

We walked through Montreal's gay village one Friday in May. They were busy hanging lights and streamers above the street, from side to side, even though there was a light rain. Not too much foot traffic. It was about 11 a.m. and there was a bit of precipitation. Lots of interesting shops. Rainbow colors everywhere. We ate lunch at a place called Rebel. It was very good.

I stumbled across this area on accident and did not realise it would be so large!! I came when all the streets were blocked off and loved just walking up and down the main road. I found it to be clean with rainbow flags flying everywhere. A lot of middle aged men and women (mainly men) out walking dogs and holding hands. It felt like a safe atmosphere. I'm keen to go to one of the bars and see what the night scene is like.

Always nice when the summer arrives.

Ste Catherine street is close, no cars ! Lots of people on the many different terrasses. Lot of things and people to look at. Safe and very friendly.

Please come and visit us !

We saw many positive reviews of this part of Montreal and have to say we were a bit disappointed but that's probably due to the fact that we visited it during the winter and is was almost dead... Probably a place to visit during summer season only...
