Always stay at the intercontinental when the city I'm in has one. Always worth the extra money. The one in Montreal is no exception. Near shopping, restaurants, and the old port. You can walk everywhere from the hotel, even St Catherine's and crescent street.

At the time of booking, the Intercontinental prices were reasonable. And somewhat less then equivalent hotels in the area, at $230-250 a night.

I was fortunate enough to be upgraded to a Club Intercontinental room. The room was spacious and tastefully refurbished with a traditional character (see picture). It is not an ultra-modern room.

At the time of my visit, the pool was closed for renovation. However, there was a steam room and sauna. The gym was average.

Location is convenient, in Old Montreal within 200m walk (under cover) between square Victoria and Place d'armes subway stations.

I would choose to stay there again if the price is right.

The hotel is very chic from reception to the rooms . Arriving at the hotel I was greeted by friendly reception staff , my room was spacious comfortable and quiet and had modern facilities , breakfast in the hotel was great and had a good range of foods . the decor through out the hotel is luxurious and all the staff was very helpful and friendly , pool area was pleasant and although gym was small it was sufficient . the hotels location is ideal for exploring Montreal most sites within walking distance ,there is shops bar and restaurants nearby .the hotel restaurant is a bit expensive but good quality but found the bar very reasonable . My stay at this hotel was restful and enjoyable and would defiantly stay here again and recommend this hotel .

Perfect. I stayed one night, business trip. It was just what I needed.
You can always count on the Intercontinental. Fantastic breakfast, great large room, free wifi if you are a hotel rewards member.
Good TV. Nice clean rooms, good pillows, sheets and towels, bathroom had shower and tub. Just awesome, and all served with some French flair.

Able to handle our large group with ease. On site restaurant a bit pricey but good. Good touristy location for sights within walking distance, Old Montreal is beautiful. Spacious rooms, hotel bar was good.

The front desk was slow, but once we got to our room, everything was extremely enjoyable. Rooms were clean, roomy and modern. We (two parents, two kids) had transferred over from the Queen Elizabeth Hotel and found the Intercontinental's rooms bigger, cleaner and fresher. The QE's health club and pool are nicer than the Intercontinentals though but I'd rather have a better rooms at the Intercontinental. The Intercontinental pool is just fine, but the sauna smelled a tad musty and there was no steam bath. Our family loved the location adjacent to Old Montreal. Metro is close and kids ride for free on the weekends.

This hotel is perfectly located adjacent to Old Montreal so that all of those sites are within walking distance.

The property is old, but not worn down or dirty. In some ways the age is very comfortable, like in the large marble bathrooms with the quaint soaking tub and small shower stall. Our room refrigerator wasn't very cold, but it was cold enough. The in-room liquor options were gone, maybe something the hotel no longer does, and we were fine with that as well. Beds were clean and comfortable. Everything in the room was in good repair. Our room was quiet and comfortable.

The hotel has an exercise room and a lap pool. The locker rooms were clean and everything was open and working during our visit which was great for my son. All hotel staff are fluidly bilingual. My only complaint would be the food cost at this hotel. A pot of coffee should never cost $14, and room service dinner for two was always over $70. (Tim Hortons is within walking distance.)

Room Tip: Some rooms have a nice view of the St. Lawrence River.
